Save The Watersheds
Help save one of the most important resources in the world!
What is a Watershed?
A watershed is an area of land where all the water that is under it or drains off of it goes to the same place.
Importance of Watersheds
Watersheds are extremely important because they can purify water, making it safe to drink, store excess floodwater and provide a safe habitat for a multitude of wildlife.

Pollution in Watersheds
Two of the most common pollutants in watersheds are non-point source pollution, meaning pollution that cannot be tracked back to it's original source, and sediments flowing into watersheds because of erosion.
How to protect Watersheds
To protect watersheds we must use BMPs (Best Management Practices) such as, planting more plants to prevent soil erosion going into water sources, fencing livestock out of rivers and streams and managing the amount of fertilizers and pesticides used.
