Let's Learn about and Honor our Nation's Veterans

We are looking forward to celebrating Veterans Day at Anderson School on Nov. 11th. As always, your child will learn more about veterans and have the opportunity to thank and honor the veterans in our community.

All of our students will be able to view a recorded virtual assembly that a team of our staff members is putting together. It will include an interview with a local Veteran, our Anderson Orchestra will be playing "America the Beautiful", and our students will be able to show their thanks and appreciation through a variety of activities.

In order to make this event meaningful for our students, and the Veterans we want to honor, please take a few minutes to fill out the two pages below.

You can either fill out a digital version by clicking on the link below or wait for your child to bring home a paper copy of this sheet. Either way is fine, whatever is easier for you.

Want to do more as a family to support our Veterans?

The Student Council would like to honor and support our Veterans, by collecting items for the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans. We will be collecting donations between Monday, November 8th through Friday, November 12th. Items we are collecting:

  • Paper Towels
  • Toilet Paper
  • Body Wash
  • Shampoo
  • Laundry detergent PODS

Simply send any of the items to school with your child. We will have boxes located in our front lobby to gather all items.

Thank you for showing your kids how we honor and support our Veterans!

SPECIAL EDUCATION PARENT/FAMILY SURVEY

Click Here to Fill Out the Survey

Dear Parents & Guardians,
As the recipient of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Funds, we are required to conduct an annual needs assessment. The feedback you provide in this assessment is so valuable! It helps us to determine what resources and professional learning activities we should provide to our staff and students using the funds provided through the IDEA grant. Your responses to this survey are anonymous. The data will be reviewed by District administration along with the D303 Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SE-PAC), to support program development across levels. If you have multiple children receiving special education support, we ask that you complete a survey for each child. If you would like to speak to a member of our leadership team about your feedback, please feel free to contact Patti Palagi at patti.palagi@d303.org

Thank you for your time!

CogAT Testing for all 3rd and 5th Grade Students.

Between November 8 and November 19, 2021, all 3rd and 5th graders will be taking the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT). The test consists of three short sections, 90 minutes of total test time, broken into nine 10-minute tests. Testing will take place at Anderson on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, November 9th, 10th, and 11th.

The CogAT is not an achievement test. Instead, it measures a student’s verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal reasoning abilities which can facilitate their learning and problem-solving. The scores may be used to adapt instruction and programs to the needs and abilities of students.
