Principal's Message
Thank you for your adaptability as our school routine and schedule changes on Thursday and Friday. We were able to ensure continued student learning, send home take home meals, and get students released early in a smooth, orderly fashion.
If for some reason your student was unable to complete live e-learning, please communicate that with their teacher so assignments can be made up.
I hope everyone is able to stay safe during the effects of Hurricane Ian on our area.
We will see you back in Bobcat Country on Monday.

Advocacy Day
On our half-day last Friday, your Bobcat student participated in the first of many Advocacy Days AC Moore will host on each 1/2 day during the year. The day was filled with fun activities designed with leadership in mind!
Bobcat Advocacy Day #1 was a huge success! “Families” were formed among grade level peers and staff to do lessons related to our Pillars of Leadership (listed above). Additionally, students learned about having an adult advocate outside of their homeroom teacher to go to for support. Each Advocacy Day will focus on our Pillars of Leadership and will provide your student with opportunities to learn more about the importance of acquiring and maintaining good leadership skills. Last week's Pillar of Leadership focus was respect.

Important Carline Pick-up and Drop-off Reminders
In an effort to keep the carline safe for students and staff, it is requested that the following carline procedures be followed during the morning and afternoon carline.
- Please pull as far forward to the end of the carline (towards Rosewood Dr.) before stopping your vehicle to allow your student to enter/exit through the gate; do not stop at the main entrance to let students out of or into the car.
- Students are to get out on the passenger side of the carline only, not from the driver side, side facing the road.
- Parents should remain in the car and allow school staff to assist the students into or out of cars.

Assignments for COVID Related Absences
For the 22-23 school year, students that are absent due to illness will receive any missed and/or make-up assignments upon return to school. They will have 5 days to return the completed work to their teacher. This is in accordance with AC Moore's typical absence policy. Devices and extended absence assignments will not be sent home this year. Virtual check-in sessions with students will also not occur. Those practices and procedures were in place as a result of Richland One's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

For National Custodian Appreciation Day, the Bobcat Family would like to send a special thank you to the custodians in our school for their work.

Physical Activity during Out-of-School Time

School-based before or after-school physical activity programs include clubs, one-time classes, intramural sports teams, and interscholastic sport programs. They can be highly structured or flexible enough to let students decide what types of activity they prefer.
Encouraging walking and bicycling to school is also great way to increase physical activity for students in all grades. To promote active transit, schools can evaluate the feasibility of current walking and biking routes, and then plan accordingly for students to walk or ride to school safely. Check out Safe Routes to School and Walk Bike to School Alternatives guide.
