Shelter and Rescue Dogs
Shelter dogs are really important to our community but they get sent to animal shelters for many reasons. Maybe because their strays, nobody wanted them, or their owners didn't pay any attention to them. Some rescue dogs are dogs that were once strays. Rescue dogs can be service dogs, actors, police dogs, etc.
Facts about Animal Sheltering
The average cost for caring for a dog is $400 to $700 annually. 75% of owned dogs have been neutered. The average number of dog litters are 4-6. Millions of strays and unwanted dogs are brought into this world every second of every day. Most of the time strays are dogs that have been misplaced or not have been kept indoors properly. Owned dogs live longer than strays.
