Letter From The Principal
28/February/2022
Dear Families,
Parents and Guardians,
Good evening! Tomorrow, March 1, 2022 we are reopening Camino Real Elementary to our parents and community. It's an exciting day to see things get back to normal. We are very excited to open our doors to the community.
In this newsletter, I have provided reminders that will help your visit go smoothly. It contains guidelines and policies that are in place to keep students safe at all times.
Remember to monitor your health and the health of your child. If you or your child has a fever, stay home. Please call Nurse Scott, if anyone in your home has tested positive for Covid. He will provide you with any next steps. If you have questions or concerns about your child's illness, and you are not sure if you should send your child to school or keep them home, Nurse Scott can help.
Have a terrific week!
If you have any questions or concerns, please email or call at yvette.soliz@hayscisd.net, or (512) 268-8505.
Sincerely,
Yvette Soliz, Principal
Entrance is in the front of the building for all visitors.
Entrance is in the front of the building for all visitors.
Upon entry visitors must report to the office and show a valid government issued photo ID, examples Driver's License, passports, etc to obtain a visitor’s badge.
The ID must be valid meaning it must not be expired.
VIP badges are only used for volunteer activities. When visiting your child a visitor's badge must be obtained with an appropriate photo ID.
Visitors are welcomed to go to the cafeteria for breakfast and lunch.
Visitors may also walk their child to class, after Spring Break parents will only be allowed to watch their children walk to their classroom from the Bye-Bye Zone (End of the hallway).
Visitors must exit the building by 7:30.
Before visitors exit, they must stop by the office to return the visitor’s tag. This lets us know that the building is clear of all visitors.
Staff must escort any individual to the office who is in the building without a visitor's badge.
Walking students to the classroom is permissible March 1-March 18
Since parents may walk their child to the classroom for the next two weeks, keep in mind the following:
Teachers will greet you, however this is not a time for a conference. Teachers are responsible for the supervision of all students in the classroom, and conferencing will be a distraction. It is also difficult to uphold confidentiality in an open area.
The classroom door will close and lock by 7:35.
All parents are welcome to schedule an appointment during the teacher’s conference time. Reach out to your child’s teacher via email or communication apps.
Don’t forget to return to the front office to return your visitor’s badge.
Lunch with your child
For parents who will join their child for lunch.
Stop at the office for your badge.
Depending on space, a lunchroom monitor may ask you and your child to sit in area that has extra sitting areas.
Students are required to walk back to the classroom with their peers. At this time parents must exit the cafeteria, and check out in the main office. (Do not exit through the cafeteria doors.)
Walking in the hallways is not allowed.
End of Day
End of the day procedures will remain the same.
Dismissal is at 2:55.
Transportation changes must be made by 1:00 pm.
Early pick-up ends at 2:15.

Reminders:
2:15 deadline for early pickup.
Bringing your child lunch?
Please bring it at least :30 minutes before lunch time. Last minute drop offs make it difficult for the front office staff to take lunches out to students on time, especially during these busy hours.
