Principal's Update

April 27th - May 1st

I can't believe we have less than 30 days left in the school year! Where does the time go? I know we have a great deal to accomplish before the year ends but we must continue to focus on teaching and learning. If you have printing needs and you are out of copies, please see me. I want to make sure that you have what you need to continue instruction. Our Leadership Team will be discussing printing for next year. If you have concerns or suggestions, please pass them onto your grade level rep.

What a fabulous Art Show, Bingo Night and Silent Auction! A special to Michele Montgomery for working with PTO to make the night a success! Thank you to every staff member who donated time, money, and prizes! Your are Awesome!

Please make sure that you take attendance immediately after the tardy bell. I realize that your focus is on instruction however it is imperative that we know who is in the building at all times. Many of you have set your timers to remind you. Thank you for doing a great job with attendance and making it a priority. Remember, it is a part of our district's safety protocol to be able to account for every student and staff member during an emergency.

I realize that spring fever has sprung for all of us but our expectations are the same. Please make sure that you sign in by 7:30 a.m. each day. If you have duty, you need to be at your duty area by 7:00 a.m. Let the office staff know when you are in your duty area. You may use the intercom. Students must be supervised at all times. If you are running late, please call the office.

We are working diligently to improve communications with parents and guardians. If you have a voicemail that has not been set up or it has the name of the person you replaced, you will need to update it no later than Wednesday, April 29th.

We are planning to have two orientation days during the summer for parents to pick up class assignments and complete as much paper work as possible before school starts (free/reduced lunch form, enrollment card, provide proof of residence, volunteer background check etc.). We also plan to have our PTO here to share information and to sign up volunteers. If you have suggestions, please give them to Mrs. Schneider.

Our staff development for Tuesday, April 28th will be SLO (Student Learning Objectives).

Inform the office of any special activities going on in your classroom. All grade level special activities such as guest speakers should be listed on the calendar in the workroom. Please submit your day and time for end of the year recognition programs.

Permanent Records should be updated by Friday, May 29th. Pink and blue folder should be removed. Use the information on the gold sheet to determine what should remain in the folders and where the item should be located.

If you have not submitted your positive referrals and Questioning Walk forms, please give them to Mrs. Schneider in the office.

Remember there should be no electronics out in the classroom during testing. Please put your phone and the monitor's phone in a locked cabinet in your room during testing.

Thank you for what you do!
