Important Reminders
Welcome to the weekly newsletter! I am super excited to be the long-term substitute while Mrs. Reiber is on maternity leave. Please read this letter each week to learn about important updates in our school and to find out what your child is learning about!
- This week's homework will consist of math, reading, and spelling. Our spelling test will be on Friday.
- The next online-only due date for Scholastic Book Orders is February 23rd. The class code is NDJXN. Please order online through Scholastic Books.
- The Scholastic Book Fair will run from February 5th - 9th. Our class will be going on Monday, February 5th in the afternoon. More information available in the photo at the bottom of the newsletter.
- We will be walking to Tallmadge High School on Monday the 5th to watch a play performed by the middle school students. Please have students bring warm coats on this day.
- There will be a Spirit Day assembly this Friday. Students can wear their Tallmadge colors to show their support!
- Although we are not having a Valentine’s Day party, students may decorate a box for a card exchange that we will have in the classroom on Wednesday, February 14th. I will have some extra boxes available for students who need one.
- The Glow Run will be on February 15th. A flyer went home on Friday introducing this event.
- Yearbook orders are due by February 11th. Orders can be submitted online or using the form that was sent home.
- Munroe Elementary will not have school on February 16th or 19th.
- The Cooking Contest will be at 6 pm at Munroe on February 22nd.

Congratulations to Sheila for winning the VIP chair in our Class Dojo behavior system!
Congratulations to Payton for earning the most Class Dojo points during the month of January! Just behind her was Kiera in second place.

Sydney is celebrating a birthday this week!
What we are learning in Room 12...
If your child is going to be absent, please let me know in advance if possible, so I can send make-up work with them.
- Math - We will be starting Unit 4 on area and perimeter. Please have your child continue to practice multiplication and division facts at home!
- Reading - We will be starting our unit on text structure.
- Writing/Spelling - In writing, we are continuing our unit on informational writing. Our spelling pattern this week is "prefixes” (re, pre, un, dis, mis, in). Our spelling test will be on Friday!
- Science - The students are continuing their unit on rocks and soil with Mrs. Kerscher.
