Dress Code Issues...We Need your Help!
It is that time of year when the students want to test the waters with the dress code.
Our ultimate goal is for our students to be in class, however, students who are out of dress code will be placed in ISS if they cannot correct the dress code issue with extra clothes, calling a parent for backup clothing, etc.
Here is what we are seeing that is not within dress code:
- Short Shorts - if the shorts are more than 5 inches above the knee, then they are out of dress code. Easy way to measure is the length of a notecard.
- Slides - Socks and sandals are not allowed.
- Leggings - These are okay as long as the shirt covers the front and back areas; however, we are seeing shorter shirts with the leggings. See through leggings are an even bigger no-no!
- Gaping/Huge Holes in Jeans - Jeans that have small holes from the knees down are not a major concern, but jeans with multiple holes, large and frayed holes, and holes above the knee, are not okay. If the student has leggings under the holes, that is fine, but no leggings=no bueno!
May 14-16; Closed Campus Lunches for STAAR Testing
On May 14 and 15, all 6th graders will take the STAAR Math and Reading Exams. On May 16, all 5th graders will take the STAAR Science Exam. We will have a closed campus lunch those 3 days for both 5th and 6th grade lunches.
If you would like to bring your child lunch on either of these days, you can drop it off in the front office, however, no visitors will be allowed to eat lunch in the cafeteria on these 3 days. This includes both 5th and 6th grade lunches.
