Roosevelt High School Saturday School
Spring Semester – 2021/2022 School Year (Hours earned will be applied to Spring 2022 Semester courses)
Students needing to make up missed class time, due to excessive absences, have options to register on campus or online. All online registrations and payments must be successfully submitted no later than 4 PM on any given Thursday leading up to a scheduled Saturday School. An $8.00 payment is required before a student is allowed to participate.
Roosevelt HS is scheduled to conduct on campus Saturday School for attendance purposes on the following dates, from 8 AM to 1 PM:
May 7, 2022
May 21, 2022
Information and a link to register online will be emailed on the Monday prior to the scheduled Saturday School. The following submissions are required to successfully register for any given Saturday School:
- Date of Saturday School student is registering for
- Student ID#
- Official Student Last Name
- Official Student First Name
*When registering online, please know that your child’s online registration must be successfully completed before proceeding to the online payment link. Please be sure to read all instructions provided within the online registration and payment links. Once successful registration and payment are received, the registered student will receive an email notification in his/her North East ISD student email account on Friday leading up to a scheduled Saturday School.
Payments can also be made with cash in our AP Office.
All students must report on time (8 AM) and have enough work to last for 5 hours.

Registration opens April 25th. NEISD High School Summer School will be hosted at Roosevelt High School this summer.

Students in all grades should check with their teachers or guidance counselor to see if they need to take the End of Course (EOC) assessments. STAAR EOC assessments will be administered on NEISD campuses. Please read the letters below for details.

Semester Exams- Exemption and General Information
High School Exam Exemptions
- The window for students to submit their semester exam exemptions will open on Wednesday, May 11th at 7:00am and the window will close on Friday, May 13th at 4:30pm.
- Teachers must update gradebook by 11:59pm May 10th and do not touch grades until may 13th at 4:30pm. The grades that are in skyward on May 10th at 11:59pm will be what is used to determine a students eligibility for an exam exemption.
- Deadline extensions will not be granted.
- Students with Semester average of 85 or above qualify for an exam exemption
- Students will submit exam exemptions through their Skyward Student Access portal.
High School Exam Schedule
- All high school campus will follow the same exam schedule.
- NO EXAMS ARE TO BE GIVEN EARLY.
- If students are not able to come on the day of your exam they can make it up on an early release day or come in after school is out to take the exam.
- Wednesday (5/25) and Thursday (5/26) early release is at 1:20, Friday (5/27) early release is at 2:20. Friday's release is 2:20 because all campuses (Elementary, Middle and High School) have early release so the buses can not get here until 2:20.

Josten's Cap & Gown Delivery
Jostens will be delivering cap, gown, graduation announcements, tassels, and other graduation items on Monday, April 11th during lunch. If you have already ordered and need to pay, you can make payment online at www.thegraduationcenter.com
Please have your balance paid prior to the delivery. All balances must be cleared to receive your cap and gown.

Orders placed on or before Wednesday, April 6th should be picked up at school on April 11th. Orders placed after April 6th will be mailed to your home address.

Roosevelt Family Specialist
Melissa Mendiola is Roosevelt's Family Specialist. Her email is mmendi2@neisd.net. Ms. Mendiola is available to assist with any needs or issues in a student's home life that can negatively affect a student's ability to excel at school. She is able to provide support and services for all students and their families, creating a true connection between home, school, and community. The family specialist's role is to bridge the gap of communication between parents, the school, and the community and provide resources to families who are experiencing barriers, and to empower all parents to fulfill their role as child’s first teacher.

The Riderettes are the 2022 Army National Unarmed Drill Champions! The competition was held in the Ocean Center Arena in Daytona Beach, FL. The San Juan Guard are runner-ups in the Armed Division. Cadet Landon Gonzalez won the 1st place title in the solo drill competition. The teams also competed in the All-Service competition where they faced teams from the other three branches of service. The Riderettes garnered 3 more 1st place tropies and San Juan Guard earned two more tropies. Both teams earned a total of 14 total trophies.

Cafeteria Update
Beginning October 1st, all cafeteria transactions will require a student ID number. Student ID numbers can be typed into the pin pad by the register or an ID card bar code can be scanned by the cashier. Students are asked to have their IDs ready to be scanned by the cashier for quick check out in the cafeteria lines. Thank you in advance.
