School Improvement Tasks for 2020/2021
MICIP won't be ready until next year (see next item). In the meantime, here are the 2020/2021 School Improvement Tasks:
- School and District Improvement Plans in Assist. Schools can use the 2-Page Template and upload to Assist or use the Goal/Plans tool in Assist
DIP - Due 6/30/20
SIP - Due 9/1/20 (recommend 6/1/20 to use in building the DIP)
- Program Evaluation. It is not required to fill out the PET in Assist this year (see MDE memo), but it is still a requirement to complete program evaluations of federally funded activities. It is important to maintain evidence that program evaluations were still completed, even if it is not required to submit in Assist. There is a recommended abbreviated tool for evaluating programs or activities on SITimeline: PDF Version | word version and SI Timeline support page for Evaluation
MICIP Update
The Michigan Integrated Continuous Improvement Process (MICIP) will be a significant update to the statewide school improvement process. This is planned to begin in the 2021-2022 school year.
- Some districts and ISDs/ESAs are beginning to test some components of MICIP. Updates will be included in future Monthly Communications.
- New Professional Learning resources will be available on the MICIP website in the coming weeks. In the meantime, check out the MICIP Official Video or the presentation from the 2019 Continuous Improvement Conference.
- Here is the official MICIP Readiness Checklist.
