School Calendar Update

Dear Parents and Students,

Thank you for taking the time to complete our survey regarding our calendar changes. We received invaluable feedback from you and it has greatly assisted us as we developed a new calendar.

When developing this plan to account for our ten snow days, we took into consideration a number of factors including contractual obligations, past precedent, and of course, the best interest of our students instructionally and programmatically.

Our calendar will be modified as follows:

Spring Break

Thursday, 3/29 - Early Dismissal

Friday, 3/30 - Closed

We will be in session the week following Easter (April 2-6).

Memorial Day

Monday, 5/28 - Closed

End of Year

Monday, 6/11 - Full Day of School

6/12-6/18 - Early Dismissal

6/15 - Graduation 2:00 pm (no change to date of graduation)

Monday, 6/18 - School in Session, Early Dismissal

We were given a waiver to hold our last day of classes on Monday, June 18th, after graduation. Seniors will be given their diploma at the conclusion of the school day on 6/18. We will be sending out information on the logistics of that closer to the date.

Monday, June 18th will be our annual Move Up Day. I am asking that you please reinforce to our students that this is a required day of school. Should our absentee rate be significantly higher than past Move Up Days, I fear it will jeopardize our ability to receive this type of waiver in the future.

Details of the activities that will take place at the end of the year, including Move Up Day, will be communicated with greater specificity closer to the date, in June.

Thank you again for your assistance and for your flexibility and understanding as we account for this unusual and rare set of circumstances that have required us to make up so many missed days.

Sincerely,

Sarah Bilotti
