Hello Hidden River Middle School Families!
I look forward to seeing you over the next several weeks. There are multiple opportunities for you to engage with your student and staff at school. We have our first Mid Quarter Conferences from 4-7 on Thursday, October 13 and Tuesday October 18. This is a great opportunity to meet your student’s teachers and learn about their progress during Quarter 1. Our next Welcome Wednesday is October 19 from 8:15 – 9:15 a.m. Come and meet other parents and staff and learn more about what is happening in MS! Our October FSO (Family Staff Organization) meeting is Thursday, October 27.
I would also like to make sure you are aware of an important Student Climate Survey that students across all SPPS schools will be completing this month. Hidden River students will do so in their Foundations class during the week of October 24-28. This anonymous survey will provide our school and staff with students’ feedback on our school’s support systems so we can improve them. The survey results will help us continue to create a school environment where our middle school students feel like they belong and become. Families can opt their student out of the surveys. Opt out letters will be provided soon.
Please do not hesitate to email me, Teresa.vibar@spps.org if you have any questions!

Help Needed for Walk / Bike to School Day!
Looking for a fast and fun way to volunteer? We need help with Walk/Bike to School Day on Wednesday, October 12th from 8 - 8:30 AM. We'll greet kids as they approach school and welcome them to take a breakfast snack to celebrate the occasion! The day is a great way of recognizing kids who take the initiative to get themselves to school in an environmentally friendly way, but also draws attention to the fact that we need safe routes to school for all kids. The time commitment is only 30 minutes (and you are welcome to bring your kids along to help). To sign-up - click on this sheet and enter your name and email address.
