A Word From Our Superintendent
Hi this isTatum, Macy, and Relynd here to tell you all about the Superintendent Mr. Petrie. Mr. Petrie started his first paying work experience in Walcott at a truck stop. He has worked as Superintendent for 6 years! WOW, that is a long time. The most important thing about his job is taking care of kids. His favorite part of his job is seeing different kids in all the buildings. He also loves seeing good things happen in the classrooms. When asked what a typical day looks like for him, he said, “My day starts at 7a.m. I have a lot of emails to go through and meetings that are scheduled with teachers or administrators.” Mr. Petrie wraps the day up at 4:00, but he is known to work extra hours. When looking for people to hire, Mr. Petrie says the most important trait is if they are good with kids. The new elementary school will hopefully be finished in 2024 or 2025. His hope for the school district is trying to get the school back to normal after Covid. Thank you Mr. Petrie!
