Graves' Disease

Graves Disease is when your body produces too many anti-bodies that stimulate the thyroid which then causes hyperthyroidism, Graves' is common in women at any age but mostly 20+ and can also be seen in men 20+ but is less likely.

This disease is autoimmune and researchers believe it may be linked to family history but nothing is confirmed yet.

Signs of Graves' Disease

Symptoms of Graves' disease include

  • anxiety
  • bulging eyes
  • chest pain
  • difficulty sleeping and/or insomnia
  • elevated blood pressure
  • fatigue
  • hand tremors
  • increased sweating
  • irregular menstrual periods
  • irritability or nervousness

Some treatment options are: Antithyroid Medications, Radioactive Iodine, Surgery(goiter)
