From the Principal.....
Dear Mustang Families,
The Mustang staff are committed to creating a year of excellence for our children as we focus on bringing our students, staff and community together to "Believe” in our path together. "Believe" is our motto as we continue to focus on making our district vision and mission the core of our daily work with children, teachers and parents. This will guide our work to believe in our students, our staff and our families working together. We're going to believe in each other in our quest to make a difference. #McBrideBelieve
As always, please feel free to reach out with question, concerns or compliments!
Sincerely,
Lisa Tyler

Well Being Wednesday
The Social Emotional Lessons taught by the teacher will include social emotional instruction from Sanford Harmony Curriculum and other lessons around emotional regulation put together by Mrs. Marshall (our Counselor) and Mrs. Green (our Success Coach).
Recess Games will be taught by our PE teacher, Mr. Jark. These students will be the "class leaders" on the playground the next week. They will attend every recess with a sticker on that says, "I know the Recess Game. Ask me". This will promote positive interactions between students on the playground as well as leadership skills.
Music Mindfulness will be taught by our Music teacher, Miss B. In her class they will learn emotional regulation using music.
The Mustang Mission instruction will be taught by our librarian, Mrs. Nelson. She will be basing her instruction or activities on what it means to belong and be a Mustang via our monthly character traits.
We are thrilled that we can promote this instruction at McBride for our Mustangs.

Arrival Drop Off & Walking your students up to class
Walking your students up to class:
As we begin the new school year it's a transition for our mustangs to learn where their classes are and get themselves to where they need to be. Our goal for our students is they are walking themselves to class independently and saying their goodbye to family in the foyer or out front. We have safety patrol volunteers in yellow vests located in the foyer ready to walk kids to their classes (or join them to make sure they don't need help) the next couple weeks.
If you need to meet with a teacher please email them to set up a time. In the morning they are greeting their students and getting ready for the day.
If your child is having a particularly hard time one morning and you think they need you to walk them up that one time please come into the office, sign the green visitor log, and grab a sticker. Please make sure to sign out before you leave.
TOGETHER - BELIEVE Recognition
Begin to notice all those ways that you feel supported at McBride or see how your child is supported at McBride. We will once again take note each week to recognize and thank those that are working "TOGETHER" and "BELIEVE" in all that we're doing to make a difference at McBride. These can be teachers, support staff, volunteers, district staff and/or other community members. Please email me with your nominations as well as a couple sentences that you would say about how your nominee has shown you Mustang Magnificence. We'll begin to recognize this magnificence next week.
Volunteers Needed and Welcomed!!
Thank you to those who have already reached out and arranged to volunteer. Who's Next?
Here are some great ways you can currently get involved:

Tanya Army-Gilbert has done a fabulous job building our Art Literacy Program. She is seeking volunteers to help throughout the year however she is looking to train a replacement as sadly, this is her last year at McBride.
Please contact Tanya to show interest in joining the volunteers this year. If you have a love of art and want to continue the program at McBride, we need you!
Tanya is holding an Art Lit Training on Oct. 2 from 8:30-9:30 in D-1. Come join us!

Katie Quick (2nd Grade Teacher) Miss Quick has been so supportive through checking in on new colleagues every morning to see how they are doing. She has a ton of resources that she has shared as well as has donated a ton of books to others' classroom library. Teacher friends know that whenever they have ANY type of school question, they can go to her for advice and wisdom.
Megan Finkner & Columbia County Christian School Megan and her summer student crew came to McBride and cleaned out our clothes closet. The organization that took place was amazing! Thank you, Megan for giving of your time to serve McBride in such a compassionate project.
Heidi Green (Success Coach) It is hard to come up with the right words but she is just absolutely amazing. She is so encouraging and uplifting. Miss Green supports students with such compassion and she is a huge cheerleader for the McBride staff and wants them to be successful. She comes in the classrooms during morning meetings as well as helps when teachers need support. So many go to her with questions and she always validates those questions.
Miss Hall, our new Kindergarten Teacher nominated her Kindergarten team Erika Kunders and Megan Ritter for always being present and available, and for being great go-tos for questions, support, and encouragement during the start of a new school year!
Unbeknownst to Miss Hall (Kindergarten), her new team nominated her as well. We are so glad to welcome a new kindergarten teacher to our team this year! Miss Hall took it upon herself to create a beautiful and welcoming 3D Crayon box bulletin board to help brighten our pod and make it cheery for our new families for Meet and Greets and Open House. She has a wonderful and positive attitude and we are so happy she is with us. Thank you for the extras you do, Miss Hall! Welcome to McBride!
Chelsie Orr and Cathy Gray (Office Staff) These ladies worked tirelessly to support Mrs. Tyler and the whole McBride Staff in the start up of this year. Thank you to these ladies for their positivity, their creativity and their endless smiles that help the community love McBride at first entry!
