Submit a request for a new report
or an enhancement to a current report
Did you know the SD-STARS team creates reports free of charge to district users? If you have an idea for a report, let the SD-STARS team know!
Submitting a request is easy. Simply log in to SD-STARS and fill out the Request for SD-STARS Report form in the District Resources section under the Training Center menu. Download the Word document and fill it out. Email the completed form to STARSHelp@state.sd.us.
After the form is received, the SD-STARS team reviews it and determines whether to accept it. Once a report has been accepted, the request proceeds through 10 development steps. A member of the SD-STARS team will work with you throughout this process to make sure the request is developed to fit district needs. The steps that typically include requestors are “requirement gathering” and “requestor feedback.” Our STARS Advisory Group, which includes representatives from various districts, provides further feedback during the “request approved” and “district feedback” steps.
The purpose of SD-STARS is to aid, measure, and inform. To do this, the department wants to meet districts’ data needs. A report request is one way to do this. No idea is too small or too big for us to look at. This will provide the support educators need when making important data-driven decisions.
