Our Mission
The Spencer Community is devoted to developing every child's ability to succeed.
Tuesday, May 7
On Tuesday, Spencer will be a polling place for the May 7th voting day. We're going to make some minor adjustments as voting will take place in the multi-purpose room (MPR).
If your child attends Friendship Center for the morning or afternoon sessions, they will move to the media center. Plan to pick-up your child in the Spencer Media Center for that day.
If you plan to pick-up your child on Tuesday, May 7th at the end of school, you'll want to go to the center doors that lead to the media center to pick- up your child. We'll have staff on hand to check your pick-up number as usual. We'll be back to the regular location for pick-up on Wednesday in the MPR.
Because voting will take place through the day, we will have a security guard placed inside the building. The guard will ensure the community members exit the building and do not enter Spencer.
We're taking these precautions to ensure a safe, and secure environment for the students and staff. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Spencer office.

Raptor Sign-In System
Remember Your ID
The Raptor system is being installed in all Brighton schools to supplement the district’s program of campus safety for students and staff. Part of keeping students and faculty safe is knowing who is in our buildings at all times, and the Raptor system will allow us to do that. Raptor will better inform us of the visitors, contractors, and volunteers seeking entry into our schools, and provide us with a safer environment for our students and staff.
The visitor process will appear like this:
Upon entering a district building, visitors will be asked to present an ID, which may be scanned or manually entered into the system.
If a parent or guardian does not have government-issued identification, the school staff member can ask to see another form of ID and manually enter the person’s name into the Raptor system to perform a background check. The Raptor system only checks the visitor's name and date of birth, no other data from the ID is gathered or recorded, and the information is not shared with any outside agency.
Once an entry is approved, Raptor will issue a badge that identifies the visitor, the date, and the purpose for his/her visit.
It’s important to note that a visitor’s badge will not be necessary for those who visit our schools simply to drop off an item in the office or pick up paperwork. If a person does not have identification, he/she can still be given access to the building but will be escorted by a school staff member.
To learn more about the Raptor visitor management system, please visit the Raptor
Technologies website at www.raptortech.com. If you have any questions for district
personnel, please contact Police Liaison Office Christopher Parks at (810) 299-4100.
The safety of our students is our highest priority and the Raptor visitor management
the system provides a consistent means for keeping away people who may present a
danger to our students. We want to thank our community in advance for your
understanding and support for enhancing building safety protocols in Brighton Area
Schools.

Recess Run
Recess Run
IT'S TIME TO GET RUNNING
Join us for recess run during all lunch recesses on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Monday May 6 - Friday May 31, 2019.
Recess run is an opportunity for the kids to run laps around the baseball field to earn tokens. The goal is to keep kids active and healthy while enjoying the great weather.
As with all PTO events we cannot do this without the help of our amazing volunteers. We need parents, grandparent and friends to come out to help count laps, cheer for the kids and help hand out tokens. Younger siblings are welcome to come out to cheer or run laps themselves.
Volunteers are needed from 11:00am - 1:35pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR CELL NUMBER WHEN SIGNING UP. In the event of adverse weather or field conditions a weather determination will be made each recess run day by 10:00 AM. A text message will be sent out to all people signed up that day in the event of a weather cancelation. Please bring water and sunscreen, there is limited shade available for volunteers.
