Q2 Mid Point Exams Thursday November 11th-Friday November 12th
Next week, all leaders will be taking Midpoint exams in their core classes. In Science, Social Studies, and Math, the assessments will be taken in Edugence. For Reading, the students will be reading a short play and responding to the reading in a short constructed response.
This Midpoint will take several days to complete and will include instructional lessons in the ELAR classroom. These exams are essential in helping us determine student growth, plan for tutoring, and have conversations with students about their academic goals.
Please speak with your student about the assessments, encourage them to do their best, and help them come to school prepared – iPad charged, pencil sharpened, and fueled to perform.

Leader Highlights
YMLA is Tied To Success
YMLA leaders in all grades and staff members dressed for success. Everyone wore ties to symbolize their pledge in living a drug free lifestyle.
My Future My Way at YMLA
YMLA 8th graders traveled to Asia Times Square to engage with industry leaders to learn about potential future career pathways and vision building. Students were engaged and excited to discuss information with professionals and high school students in order to prepare themselves for high school and beyond. Former YMLA students were on site to help current students see their success. Thank you to all YMLA staff involved in the event and the district CTE department. YMLA Counselor's RC COLA (Randle-Lead on event & Campbell) coordinated and orchestrated the event for their leaders.
Brothers Helping Brothers At YMLA
YMLA held its annual Texas Scholars Day. All male speakers shared their college, career, and workforce experiences providing 8th grade YMLA leaders viable information for decisions on their future. Speakers possessed a wealth of knowledge and represented many areas of work including stem, science, fine arts, health science, education, law, and armed forces.
