ABCYa! Animate
ABCYa! activities have made several appearances on my Friday Feed, but have you tried ABCYa! Animate? It is a fun way for students to create animations on the web. I can see so much potential for using this in the classroom. Have students animate an original comic, a life cycle or process, or create a persuasive information piece. Files can be saved as a .gif file. Creating the animations is so much fun, I made one myself. Check it out here.
All I Want for Christmas is Ollie!
or Sphero...I'm not picky. This is an app-controlled robot that is fun for kids and adults alike! It costs $99.99 with accessories as an additional cost. This little guy is tough and durable and can pull off some wicked tricks! I'm crossing my fingers Santa will bring me one on Christmas.

Resolve to be Tech Savvy in 2015!
We all have areas where we can improve. Technology can be daunting at times, so resolve to improve in 2015.
- Improve your password security. I have to resist the urge to use the same password for all of my accounts. Keep up with your passwords using a tool such as Keeper or the app LockBox. *Remember to reset your password before the break!
- Manage your files. Clean up your H drive and remove outdated files from the network shares. Also, back up your files if you care about them. Buy an external hard drive to give you extra space.
- Try one new lesson idea using technology each month of the year!
- Be aware of security settings. Facebook is updating terms and policies effective Jan. 1, 2015.
