Pomona January Newsletter
2023
Did you know that just 10 minutes of reading a day will change your child’s life?

January: Short and sweet
Welcome back everyone,
I personally want to thank all of you for getting your amazing children to school every day and on time. This makes a huge difference in their learning, social well-being, and teaching.
January always seems to be the month to set goals. We would like to ask you to help us reach our goal of 100% of our kids reading every day outside of school. If you have your kids read every day we are going to see amazing things as a community. As stated above, "Positively shape your child's future."

Lions Grant and Parade

Part of the grant expectations is that we participate in the Lions Parade on February 18th. We want to invite everyone to come out and represent Pomona! This Aquos board is used by every learner in our school.
This parade is not a heavy lift. We show up at 12:30, walk in the parade at 1, and that's it. If you want to go to the carnival after you certainly can.
We will walk Main Street from the Convention Center to the 7th street roundabout.
Plus, who gets to be in a parade? US! How many parades have you been in? How many Pomona Kids have been in a parade? I would guess not many. Let's show Grand Junction what Pomona is all about.
The theme is "How the West was won". So Wild west costumes are very welcome!
Below is the invite, we need to know the rough number of Pomona participants.

What happens in STEAM Lab?
Better yet. Ask your kids what they do in STEAM Lab and what they learned. Watch their faces light up.

Our PTO is amazing. Just about everything you see at Pomona, from Aquos Boards to our Art teacher comes from major support of PTO. I cannot thank you and PTO enough for supporting the school and the kids. PTO does have a Facebook page and a website (see links right below).
