Weekly Notes

Thank you for making it to your child's conference. I was very impressed with the student presenters.

Wednesday, October 30 is picture retakes. Send in the packet if you want your child to retake his or her pictures.

Wednesday, October 30 is another early release day. Students will be dismissed at 1:45.

Halloween Parade is at 2:00 on Thursday for anyone interested.

The field trip to the Challenger Space Center is on Thursday, Nov. 7. Sorry for the mixup in the information sheet. Attached is the permission slip. Please return by Friday.

We need 1-2 volunteers to join our class on the trip to Kenai. We likely will not have room on the bus (already packing 60+ students in the bus). However, it'd be great if the volunteers from the classes all car pooled together. Please let me know by Friday if you are interested (and maybe how interested you are) and I will let you know by Friday who is going. We only need a few. Thanks!

Artist in the school is beginning this week. Alison Marshall will be doing a dance unit with the students.

Looking for donations of thin wire if you have any lying around. We will be doing 3D scupltures in the coming weeks.

Homework

  • Math - daily
  • Spelling - due Friday
  • Reading - total of 100 minutes + reading log filled out. Independent Readers are expected to still be reading that amount, but reading logs are not necessary. To become an independent reader, students need to consistently turn in their reading logs and show growth in their reading through their Lexile score.
