A Message to our Students and Families
We are excited to celebrate next week with our students. We will be hosting a Homecoming week that will include dress up days, a pep rally, a fund raiser for Bert's Big Adventure, and of course, the Homecoming Dance on Saturday Oct. 9. Please see below for more information about all of these fun events.
This newsletter also contains important information about PSAT Day on Oct. 13, AP Exam registration, yearbooks, and more. Please note that PSAT Day on Oct. 13 is an online learning day for students not testing.
It's hard to believe, but we are almost finished with our 1st Quarter of the 2021-22 school year. Your student's progress grade will be posted on Thursday Oct. 21. Please make sure to read below for information about Marvel Time, Marvel Academy and other resources available to help your student succeed in high school.
We appreciate all of your support this year.

PSAT Information
The PSAT will be given on October 13, 2021. All 10th grade students will test, along with any 9th and 11th grade students who previously signed up through My Payments Plus by September 13th. Students should report to school before 9:00 AM to find their testing location. Everyone taking the test should bring #2 pencils and a calculator to use on the test. No electronic devices are allowed in the room during testing. Testing should end around 1:30 PM for students in a regular testing session. Students may be picked up when testing is over in the car rider line. Buses will run their normal routes that day for students who typically ride the bus.
PSAT Day Oct. 13, 2021 will be an Asynchronous Online Learning Day for all students who are NOT taking the PSAT (see below). Seniors are encouraged to schedule college visits for that day.
From College Board:
Your students can get familiar with the format of the PSAT/NMSQT by using College Board's free practice tests or spending some time answering questions on Official SAT® Practice on Khan Academy®.
Before the test, please encourage students to create their College Board accounts so they’ll be ready when PSAT/NMSQT scores are released in December. Students should also provide their email address on their test day answer sheets so they’ll be notified when scores are available.

COVID-19 Updates
MARVEL Time
This year we are excited to offer daily Marvel Time to all students. Marvel Time takes place during your student's 3rd period, which meets every day. Each day students have a 30 minute window of time to take advantage of the following opportunities:
- Make up a missing quiz, test or assignment
- Get extra help from our tutors
- Meet with a club/CTSO committee
In order to participate in any of the above, a teacher must sign the student up for the activity.
In addition, during the lunch portion of 3rd period, students can find a quiet study spot in the Innovation Lounge, visit with a counselor or graduation coach, and on B days, visit with our Therapy Dog Luke!
We hope that this program will help our students to be successful in all of their courses this year.
Thank you to our PTSO for providing treats for the Treat Trolley!
Congratulations to Mr. Bosmia for being the Teacher of the Month!
