Message from the Principal
I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing break with your loved ones. We are nearing the end of the first semester with fifteen days remaining until Winter Break. Time is certainly flying. In order to finish the year strong, please follow the guidance below:
1. Keep your child home is he/she is sick. COVID-19 cases continue to rise. In order to keep your child, other children and our staff healthy, staying at home when sick is necessary.
2. Continue to participate and engage in learning, especially for our digital learners. School is Monday through Friday from 8:50am - 3:20pm. It is imperative your child is present in person or digitally EACH and EVERY DAY to learn the information to be successful in school.
3. Be sure your child completes all assignments and assessments when due. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have questions about grades and assignments.
Today, November 29 is the last day to select your child's learning option (either in-person or digital learning at home) for the 2nd semester. To make the selection, visit the parent portal. If you do not update the preference for your children on the portal, the children will continue in their current learning option when school resumes in January.
Let's finish the semester SAFE and STRONG, and let us know if you need anything!
Sincerely,
Kassia Sutton

CHECKING OUT BOOKS
Dear Norcross Elementary Parents,
We are offering book checkout to students who are learning from home. If you would like for your child to check out books, watch the video's on how to place books on hold using our media catalog. Little ones will need your help with this.
We are allowing students to check out extra books this year to keep for a longer period, so be wise on the books you select. Try to get books on or close to your reading level when possible. If you are reading chapter books, be sure to reserve at least one-chapter book.
WE do only allow students to check out only 1 of our special books, which include: GF (Graphic), POP (Popular, DRAW (Drawing), & EYE SPY books. That means they should only put 1-2 on hold and they will receive one of them, the rest of the books can be from any section.
BOOK PICK UP: Parents may pick up the student's books on TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, & FRIDAY 11AM - 2 PM in the front of the school. Just let them know you are here to pick up books for your child's name, Teacher name, & grade. Books will be checked out to students and placed in a bag at the front for pick up. All books should be placed on hold by Friday & should be available the following week on Friday. Books will be held at the front for 7 days & if not picked up, we will check them back in.
- How many books can a student checkout at one time?
K & 1st = 2 books;
2nd grade =3 books;
3rd grade= 4 books;
4th & 5th grade =5 books. - Video links:
