Ray Charles was a famous singer, song writer, and musician. Ray was born on September 23, 1930. Mr. Charles went blind at age seven, nearly after watching his younger brother die. Ray was an ambitious and brave person. Later on Ray Charles died at age 74, he died on June 10, 2004. Even though he is not here today Ray Charles will forever be remembered

Childhood
Ray was born on September 23, 1930. Ray Charles was born and raised in Greenville, Florida. Ray was able to see for a couple years, but later went blind at age seven. Since Ray was the oldest child and grew up without a father Mr.Charles believed he had to be the "Man in the family". As this title Ray took exceptional care of his younger brother. Just a few weeks after Ray's fourteenth birthday he witnessed his younger brother, George's death. George died at a young age by drowning in a bathtub.
