Building Resilience Webinar
Register today for our Sept. 26 webinar on building resilience in students! Everyone faces tough moments in life, but experiencing trauma in childhood can lead to a lifetime of consequences. Building resilience in students is an important part of our goal to prepare students for college, career and life. Licensed professional counselor Angie Winkler will help us understand the science of adverse childhood experiences.
Calling ALL Veterans!
We are looking for Veterans to come to Tiffany Ridge and speak with our students about their military experiences. Our assembly will be in the morning on Thursday, November 7th.
Some possible talking points:
- Why you decided to be a part of the United States military.
- What you experienced and what it means to them to be a Veteran.
- Pictures or a power point would be a great addition! (We can help with the technology for this.)
- 5-10 minutes for questions.
If you have a friend or relative that would like to speak for 20-30 minutes about being a Veteran, please contact:

AVID: Learning Skills for Organization
- Keep materials organized in their binders
- Record learning in daily planners
- Use graphic organizers to record learning experiences
- Focused note-taking strategies
- Set goals and reflect on learning
Organizational skills help students become college and career ready! These skills help our learners manage a rigorous and challenging curriculum, which is the greatest factor to determine college graduation rates. While college graduation seems far away for our students, our goal is that every student at Tiffany Ridge has the opportunity to choose their path for success!
September Curriculum Corner
Math K-5 Curriculum Connections
Counselor's Corner
Mrs. Andes, our school counselor, meets with each class every other week for a counseling lesson. These lessons focus on pro-social behaviors and conflict resolution skills. Third, Fourth and Fifth grades had counseling lessons this week. They all learned about empathy and respect. Below are links to the family exercises you can do with your student to help solidify their learning and expand on what we learned in class.

Box Tops for Education
You might have noticed some changes with many Box Tops products you've purchased recently. Box Tops for Education (BTFE) is going digital! If you see the BTFE label on any products, use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt. Box Tops are still worth 10 cents for your school. The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to your school's earnings online. Just download the app, sign up for free, choose TIFFANY RIDGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, and scan away. Receipts need to be scanned within 2 weeks of purchase. BTFE is phasing out the traditional Box Tops clips, but you can still send them to the school and we can still get 10 cents for every Box Tops clip. Thank you for helping raise money for our students!
Watch D.O.G.S. at Tiffany Ridge
WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) is a family and community engagement educational initiative program that we have at Tiffany Ridge! Even though the program emphasizes Dads getting involved at school, ALL parents can be Watch DOGS, so Moms are welcome to sign up too!
The goals of the program are to provide positive role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important and to provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying. WatchDOGS volunteer for at least one day each year at an official WATCH D.O.G.S. school.
To learn more about WatchDOGS, join us on September 20th from 7:30-8:30am for "Donuts with Dudes" and enjoy a donut with your student! You can sign up now at the link below to select a day to be a Watch DOG or at Donuts with Dudes! This link will be open throughout the school year as well. Brian Moran is our Tiffany Ridge "Top Dog" for this school year.
During the school day, WatchDOGS may read and work on flash cards with students, play at recess, eat lunch with students, patrol the school entrances and hallways, assist with traffic flow and any other assigned activities where they actively engage with not only their own students, but other students as well.
PTA Reflections 2019-2020

This is your chance to express yourself through one of six categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, or Visual Arts. More information can be found by clicking HERE.
Nominate a Staff Member for the Park Hill STAR Award
Our employees are the reason we are so successful here in the Park Hill School District, and we would like to recognize them for all they do for our students.
That is why we present the Park Hill Star award once a month to a pre-K or elementary teacher, a secondary teacher and a support employee. Anyone can nominate an employee for this award by using the form below. It asks you to share how your nominee demonstrates our district values of continuous improvement, high expectations, integrity, visionary leadership and student focus. You can also share how your nominee supports the goals in our district’s strategic plan.
