PTO News
Hurffville PTO Nominations 2021-2022
We are seeking nominations for the PTO Executive Board for the following positions (1-year term):
- (Co) President
- Vice President
- Secretary
Elected positions are open to all dues paying members of the PTO. Nominations for (Co)President are only open to those who have been PTO members for one year prior to the upcoming election. Nominations for Vice President and Secretary are open to any PTO member regardless of membership date.
Nominations will be accepted through this form through 11:59 PM on Friday, May 7. Election ballots will be distributed to the email on file of all dues paying members during the week of May 10.
To verify PTO membership status, arrange for dues payment, or for any questions about the open positions or election process, please email hurffvillepto@gmail.com.
Staff Appreciation Week May 3rd- May 7th
As you may already know, Teacher Appreciation Week is May 3rd-May7th. Our staff here at Hurffville has worked diligently to ensure our student's success during this pandemic school year. To show our appreciation, I'd like to incorporate our school community into this fun time.

Full Day Updates
As we transition to the final quarter of our school year, a lot of information has been sent out for K-2 Remote Learners, 3-5 Remote Learners, and In- Person learners. Pleas use the links below to access this information. If you have any additional questions, please contact the main office.
Arrival/ Dismissal Procedures
During arrival and dismissal we will continue using our larger parking lot for students in 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade classrooms; and our small parking lot for 2nd, 4th, and Autism classrooms.
ARRIVAL PROCEDURES:
Morning Drop-off- When dropping your child off at school, please follow the drop off arrows in the picture down below. Staff members assigned to bus duty will guide you in the parking lot. Simply pull up to the drop off area along the sidewalk and stop at the crosswalk to let your child out of the car. Once your child is dropped off, follow the directional pattern. Buses will use the indicated bus lane and park in the designated spots alongside of the school. Please use extreme caution and patience when entering the parking lot. After 9:30 a.m. you will need to sign your child in to school. When you arrive at the front doors, please call the main office. A staff member will meet you at the front door, ask you to sign the arrival book, and will guide your them to class.
- Buses will begin arriving in the parking lot at 9:20 a.m., and parents driving students to school should plan to arrive between 9:20 and 9:25 a.m.
- Once inside, students will follow directional arrows and maintain six feet of distance as they proceed to their classrooms.
DISMISSAL PROCEDURES:
Dismissal- If you are picking up your child, please park in the spots closest to the parking lot exit. We will be staggering our dismissal and calling car riding students with the last names that begins with A-L at 1:20 p.m. and then M-Z at 1:25 p.m. Please remain in your cars or practice six feet of social distancing when waiting for your child to be dismissed. On April 26th, car riders with the last name that begins with A-L will begin dismissing at 3:40 p.m. and then M-Z at 3:45 p.m.
Departing Bus Students: : Assigned staff members will supervise departing bus students. If there is a change in your child’s bus routine (i.e. child not riding the bus home from school), you must use the Hurffville Elementary School Dismissal Form and submit it to the office. Riding a different bus home with another student is prohibited. If no written notification is received, your child will be placed on the bus.
Picking up Students Early: If you are picking your child up from school early, please use the Hurffville Elementary School Dismissal Form* and submit it to the main office. Please inform your child’s teachers if picking up early or if another person is picking up your child. The person picking up your child must ring the door bell for the main office to let them know that you are here. Next you will need to sign out your child using the sign out book. A staff member will escort your child to the front doors.
PLEASE drive slowly and use extreme caution when entering and exiting the parking lot. Thank you!!

Additional Reminders
Signing Students in Late/ Out Early
An authorized adult must accompany all students being signed in/out. After being buzzed into the building, the parent/guardian will remain in the vestibule, asked to present ID, and sign the student out in the sign-out book on the table.
Tech Support
Families in need of tech support during remote learning are asked to submit their request, including your child's name, PIN/ID number, and a description of the issue, to studenthelp@wtps.org
Forms
Please be sure to complete all required forms in Unified Classroom for the start of the 2020-2021 school year. They include the Health Information, Health Authorization, Student Contacts, and the Annual Information Update.
