Principal's Message

As we enter the last two weeks of Semester 1 it is vital that we continue to hold ALL scholars accountable for meeting our expectations with academics and behaviors. This means for the next two weeks resetting expectations on transitions, STAR, 100%, and completing assignments with accuracy or pushing them to precision to get there. You will have to inspire our scholars to produce the GREATness that you know they have inside of them because that is what makes the difference between being a student and being a scholar. Thank you for showing up everyday and doing the work of a HERO (Helping Everyone Reach Opportunities). The Deans and I are so proud to do this work alongside you. Happy Interim Assessment Week!!

School Wide Focus

Interim Week and STEP Testing

Interim Assessments begin this week and we are so excited for our scholars to show what they know! We cannot wait to see all the growth they will make on the IAs as well as the STEP goals they will reach this cycle. The admin have included some extra time on our schedules to support with STEP testing and will check in with Ayana on which classroom to check-in with on Monday.

Silent Hallways: Please try to limit any conversations in the hallways and model the core value of RESPECT this week as scholars will be working on Interims K-3.

Deans of Academics

RTI/Progress Monitoring: Please continue to pull RTI groups with fidelity. Due to a limited schedule, you may choose to progress monitor one more time before the end of the quarter.

Check-Ins: We will not have check-ins this week due to Interim testing. If you need any help or support, please reach out to your coach.

STEP: Please send Ayana any individual or group shots of students who have passed new step levels in their STEP swag! She will post as much as possible on the Academic boards. Either email her or text her the pictures at 901-262-3039.

Dean of Culture

It is week 19 of teaching and learning at EEP. We are in the midst of testing season so let’s keep high expectations 100% of the time and work together to keep our hallways silent. This week’s culture focus is on transitions. When scholars are walking in the hallways they must be silent, safe, and speedy. It is important that leaders, teachers, and scholars are following through on their end of the hallway transitions. We want to model these expectations to ensure a high-achieving professional testing environment.

Some things to remember:

  • All restrooms breaks are silent.
  • While scholars are waiting to use the restroom the expectation is they are waiting silently.
  • Scholars that are in the restroom are silently doing their business and moving quickly.
  • Hallway transition are silent 100% of the time.
  • H-A-L-L-S. (H)Your hands are at your side, (A) all eyes are tracking forward (L), legs and feet on the blue line, (L) lips are zipped, and (S) we are silent.

This week’s WIG WINNER IS...

Dean of SEL

SEL classes will be centered around the first three habits for the next few weeks. We will talk in depth about how to put first things first, be proactive, and begin with the end in mind. Please see the shared drive here to access supplemental materials for morning meetings and review. Also- please ensure that you are having scholars work on their leadership notebooks!

LIM Habit: Think win-win. When there is a problem, try to find a solution that makes everyone feel satisfied.
