News You Can Use
Important things to remember:
Drop off:
From 7:20-7:50, please remember parent drop off should take place at the back of the building. Cars pulling around to the front of the building causes the buses to be held up. We appreciate your cooperation with this matter.
Pick Up:
Parents picking students up at dismissal should pick up by the B2 door. Please do not pull around the building, this causes the busses to be held up. We appreciate your help with ensuring all students are safely picked up at the end of the day.
Dress Code:
Please review the dress code in the FMS handbook with your students (attachment below). We understand the weather is warm, however it is important that students wear appropriate and safe clothing/shoes to school. Thank you for your support.
Lunch:
If your child is eligible for Free or Reduced meal benefits you need to fill out an application each school year (application below). Please complete the application and return it to the main office by October 1st.
Just a reminder, you can add money to your child's lunch account by going online to Myschoolbucks.com.
Chromebooks:
If your child has not returned a completed chromebook agreement please do so as soon as possible. If students need another copy please have them stop by the main office. Chromebooks will be issued to students after agreement is received.
All chromebooks must remain in the cases, if students have not received a case they should stop by the library to pick one up.
Beginning of the year forms:
If you have not returned all of the forms students received on the first day please so so as soon as possible!

"Start with Hello" Week
Dear Parents/Guardians,
During the week of September 23-27th, Ferri Middle School students will be taking part in Start With Hello week. Start with Hello teaches students in grades 2-12 the skills they need to reach out to and include those who may be dealing with chronic social isolation. It encourages students to create a culture of inclusion and making connections within their classroom, school, or youth organization. Social isolation is the overwhelming feeling of being left out, lonely, or treated like you are invisible. It is a growing epidemic in the United States and within our schools. Excessive feelings of isolation can be associated with violent and suicidal behavior. Furthermore, young people who are isolated can become victims of bullying, violence, and/or depression. As a result, many further pull away from society, struggle with learning and social development, and/or choose to hurt themselves or others.
We encourage you to talk to your child about the Start With Hello program and ask them to share what they have learned. Not only will that help you learn how to support your child to identify isolation, reach out and connect, and Start With Hello, it also demonstrates to your child that you take this subject seriously and can support them in their actions to create a more connected and inclusive home, classroom, school and community.
For more information on Start With Hello please view the parent brochure.
