## How does the type of circuit affect the strand of type of Christmas lights with a burned out bulb?

IV: Christmas lights in a parallel circuit.

DV: burned out bulb

Hypothosis 1: If the Christmas lights are in a parallel circuit and one bulb is removed then the brightness will stay the same.

## Observation

Every time you remove a bulb the brightness stays the same.

## Observation and Hypothosis

Observation: Every time a light is removed the brightness is increased.

Hypothesis: If the Christmas lights are in a series circuit and one bulb is removed the brightness will increase.

## Observation & Hypothosis

Observation: When you take a light away the brightness remains the same.

Hypothesis: If the Christmas lights are in a series circuit & one bulb is removed the brightness will decrease.

## Observation

The more bulbs you add the less amount of light that shines.

## Observation

The less bulbs the more light.

## Conclusion

The parallel series works best for using Christmas lights because if a light goes out you still have the brightness a series circuit would not have. Plus, parallel would probably last longer since the bulbs have more light.
