A message from our Principal Mr. Felten
I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all who help make Reunion an amazing place to be. We are a community with many gifts and talents, which we share daily with one another and most importantly, our students. From the classroom, to your living room and all points in-between, our collective efforts to support your children are filled with passion and commitment and I believe this will have a positive and lasting influence in the future for all.
I am grateful to you for the support and dedication you have for our community. Thank you for entrusting us with your most precious gift each day. I am so thankful to our wonderful, talented, creative, inquisitive, optimistic, resourceful and resilient students. Often, they make us laugh, sometimes they make us cry, they make us think and most of all, they make us better. In the spirit of this holiday season, I want to extend my thanks to all of you for everything that you do for Reunion.
I believe the faces of our children best express the true meaning of this holiday season. As we enjoy the upcoming holidays, it is my wish that each family can find the time to enjoy the smiles I see everyday.
Have a special time this season and I wish you the very best!
Happy Holidays,
David Felten

2nd Grade Winter Music Performance
*2nd Grade Families*
We have a Winter Music Performance on December 15th @ 6:00 pm. Please have your students wear their holiday best.
Please have students at Reunion by 5:40 pm (doors will open at 5:30 pm) We will have a warmup and then line up at 5:45 pm.
Students can wear holiday hats and headbands but they should be thoughtful about someone who is standing behind them. Please no high heels or itchy hot sweaters ;)
Due to space we ask that students only bring 2 people.
*If you are crafty or willing to get pricked with safety pins Mrs. Vajda needs help with creating and hanging some backdrops for our Winter Wonderland performance. She also would love help with creating the program.
Please reach out to Mrs. Vajda at avajda@sd27j.net
Parents, community members needed for mill levy oversight committee
We did it! On Nov. 8, 2022, 27J voters made a historic investment in education through the passage of 5B, the district’s mill levy override request.
This money means additional funding for school safety, teacher and support staff compensation and STEM and Career and Technical Education learning opportunities.
27J Schools is committed to transparency and accountability every step of the way as we invest this money in our students and staff.
Parents and community members are needed to serve on a new community mill levy oversight committee that will begin its work in 2023. This group of individuals will serve as “the eyes and ears” of all 27J voters to ensure that this money is spent in alignment with voter-approved ballot language.

Pick up and Drop off Reminders
Parents, Thank you for your patience as we continue to focus on keeping students safe during this time. Please remind your child if they walk or get dropped off on the street to use the crosswalk areas to cross the street and not run between cars. We have crossing guards at intersections around the school to help with a safe crossing.
Picking up your student Early?
If you are picking up your student early we are not able to call them down from their classrooms until an adult is present in the building to sign them out. Please come to the front door, ring the doorbell and sign your student out with us. Be sure to bring a photo ID with you in order to check out your child.
