Quarantine or Isolation? CORRECTION
If your child is positive your child must follow the guidance provided RIDE/RIDOH and must isolate for 10 days, and return to school on day 11 if symptoms have improved.
If your child has symptoms and is awaiting their PCR test, other siblings must remain home from school until the PCR results are given, unless the sibling is vaccinated. If your child is exposed to a positive, or identifies as a close contact, they must quarantine for 7 days, but may get a PCR test on day 5 and return to school on Day 8 if the PCR test is negative and they have no symptoms.
If your child is living with a person who tests positive for COVID, your child must quarantine for 10 days and THEN begin their quarantine for an additional 7 days. After 5 days (day 15) they should be tested and if they receive a negative PCR test they may return to school on day 18. This is the least restrictive option.
If at anytime you have questions please reach out to your school nurse.
If your child must isolate or quarantine your child’s teacher will provide guidance and work while your child is in isolation/quarantine. You or your child should contact his/her teachers or guidance counselor for further information. If you need assistance in this matter, please contact your child’s principal for more details.
Cuarentena o Aislamiento?
