Thesis
The documentary Rich Hill was successful at showing the audience that everyone has a different struggle in life to go through.
Purpose
The purpose of the Rich Hill film was to inform the audience that people all around us are going through rough times. In the film it specifically showed three boys going through their own problems. The film Rich Hill showed the challenges each boy has to live a normal life.
Andrew
Andrew was basically trying to overcome his life struggles. Andrew and his family are always moving and they have a hard time paying their bills. So Andrew would have to find work to get paid to help out the family. The character's role in the documentary shows the purpose of everyone has a struggle to fight.
Appachey
Appachey has anger issues and I think some of his issues are from his father leaving him when he was a young boy. This causes him to be angry all the time and lash out in school. His anger issues was his struggle that he had to overcome which helped prove the film's purpose.
Harley
Harley has went through a lot. He was rapped by his stepped dad, and his mom is in prison. Harley misses his mother deeply he calls her often. But he lives with his grandmother. He gets through his struggle by cracking jokes and making people laugh. Harley showed the film's purpose by letting the audience see his life and what he has to go through.
Conclusion
The film left a great impact on me as I was watching it because it made me feel very grateful for what I have. This film has showed me that many people go through their own struggles, and you would never know it because they don't show it. Also it made my perspective change because at first I thought if you don't have money go find a job, but some places are so poor that its hard to find a good job because there isn't many out there.
