A Message from Administration
Greetings Ducketts Lane Families,
We want to thank everyone for a wonderful week. As a reminder, dismissal of students is at 3:20 each day. In order to maximize the safety of everyone, we ask for you to follow the dismissal process for our car loop and continue to encourage parents to have students ride the bus or walk home to decrease the overwhelming number of cars in the area during dismissal with the number of pedestrians that are around. Additionally, we ask that if you are going to be picking your child(ren) up for an early dismissal that this occur prior to 3:00 pm.
Your input is needed!! As part of our school improvement process, we are asking families to provide input about their equity priorities for our school. Please use the link below to complete the Indicators of Educational Equity Survey by APRIL 30. We will use your input, along with other school data, to refine our school improvement plan for next school year.
The survey is anonymous and available in multiple languages. If you have children at more than one school, please complete one survey per school.
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Caroland or Mr. Robinson.
As we close this week, we wanted to wish everyone a safe and healthy spring break. Our schools will be closed April 11- 18, and will reopen on Tuesday, April 19th.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Your Feedback for Supporting Families Matters
Howard County Public School's Title I Office receives Title I funds to provide additional support and resources to Title I Schools. The Title I Office supports family engagement through the implementation of its Parent, Family, and Community Involvement Plan and by providing schools with funds to support family engagement. Please take a moment to complete the HCPSS Title I Parent, Family, and Community Involvement Input Survey, providing feedback on the district's Parent, Family, and Community Involvement Plan and parent involvement funds.

Calendar updates
To better align with the Eid al-Fitr holiday, schools will now be closed for students Monday, May 2 and open on Tuesday, May 3. Monday, May 2 will be a Professional Learning Day for staff and offices will remain open. Tuesday, May 3 will be a regular school day.
Additionally, as of Wednesday, March 16th, HCPSS has used four inclement weather days this school year and made up one of those days by opening schools on February 21st. As such, the last day for pre-K/RECC students is currently Tuesday, June 14, and for K-12 students Friday, June 17, 2022. Full details can be found on the HCPSS calendar.
Health Checks Remain an Important Part of Each Day
Warm Weather is coming and attire is changing
While we support and acknowledge student choice when selecting apparel to be worn at school, we need to also make certain that as a community we are abiding by HCPSS Policy 9210.
We wanted to specifically lift up the expectation that certain body parts must be covered by all students. Clothes must be worn in a way such that the chest, midriff, pelvic/groin area and buttocks are covered with opaque material.
SAY CHEESE
Individual spring pictures will be taken on Thursday, April 21, 2022. All students will have their picture taken. Each student will receive a packet of photos to include the following:
2 8 x 10
3 5 x 7
2 3 x 5
4 2 x 3
1 8 x 10 portrait collage
2 5 x 7 portrait collages
Once the photos are received, parents/guardians will have the opportunity to choose which photos are to be purchased and to return any unwanted photos.
