News from Ms. Hess
In literacy, we were focused on learning about Greek and Latin roots. We learned that 20% of all words have these roots, which can help us make inferences about what words mean.
In science, we observed and recorded our observations about mystery "black boxes." These small black boxes have small pieces of foam and a marble inside. Students are posed the question, "What does it look like inside the black box?" We then created our own models of our observations and eventually had to build consensus with other scientists.
Please remember Picture Day is Tuesday. Tuesday evening also includes our author visit and benefit for Bradey Adams Family. Please mark your calendars and try to join!
Learning Goals This Week:
Math: I can multiply multi-digit numbers using the standard algorithm.
Writing: I can create a Google slideshow about myself.
Science: I can work with given criteria and constraints and build consensus with a team to solve a problem.
