Destiny Quest
Why use eBooks? The ease of access is one reason. The eBooks allow students to access the book anytime on their school iPad or other device. The student can take notes and highlight important information. The notes and highlights are kept in the student’s backpack. Every time they open the eBook the notes and highlights are still there. A dictionary is linked so they can look up the meaning of a word. Many of the books have audio available. They are a great way to read!
Teachers, you can use these on the SMARTboard to model close reading in a whole group or small group setting.
All 3rd and 4th grade students have learned how to access Destiny Quest during their library lessons this week.
Just a few simple steps to get to the eBooks:
Turn on iPad or other device in a wireless network.
Open the DestinyQuest App

Here's what you need to do:
- Pick up a MiFi Hotspot waiver form in the library or school office. Send it home with the student.
- Return signed waiver form to Maureen Mommaerts. She will check to see if the child is eligible. She will send you an email letting you know if they qualify.
- When internet access is needed for homework completion the Teacher completes the “HSSD MiFi Checkout Form” - link: MiFi Checkout Form For your benefit you may want to bookmark this so you can easily access the form.
- Students may come to the library to checkout the device. Please have students come to library between 2:30 and 2:45. Paula's day is over at 3:00.
