Gilbert Teacher Spotlight: Ms. Navarrete

New to Gilbert Intermediate is Ms. Christina Navarrete. She teaches 5th grade Bilingual classes. She was born and raised in Glen Rose, Texas. Graduated high school in 2010 and continued her education at Texas Tech University. She received her bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Spanish in 2015 and went on to become an Instructional Aide at Glen Rose Junior High. Her love for teaching and helping out the students grew more and more.


"Getting to come to school to not only teach the youth of this country but to also learn along with them is my biggest reward! That look of accomplishment and true curiosity the kids have on their face is priceless. That is what continues to motivate me to become a better teacher and makes me love what I do." Ms. Navarrete.

Gilbert Great Parties during SWARM periods

In keeping with our SISD Core Values, we reward all those students who maintain excellent behavior (not signing behavior log, not getting detention and not getting suspended) during the Six-week grading period. Students are called to the Multi-Purpose room to enjoy snacks and drinks, play board games, take part in Madden Football and Mario Kart video game tournaments or just hang out with friends.

Class of Honor

Our Class of Honor is the home room who has the best attendance at the end of the current six-week period. This class receives several awesome perks for a full six week period!


- Fast Pass at the cafeteria line

- Priority seating with friends in the cafeteria on Fridays

- Classroom Door Banner for display

-Teacher receives own reserved parking spot.

Gilbert Picnic days

Due to construction in our grounds, we will not be able to hold family picnics this school year. We are planning for our construction to be completed as early as spring time. We hope by then, we can set days for you to visit our campus.

Nurse Reminders of School Policies:

1) If a student has fever over 100.4, we are required to send home.

2) If they have diarrhea 3 times while at school, we are required to send home.

3) If they throw up and it is seen/reported by a teacher/adult, we are required to send home.


The student can NOT return to school until they have been WITHOUT symptoms (fever/vomiting/diarrhea) WITHOUT medicine for 24 hours.
