We have had so much fun seeing your adorable families through your car windows as we have delivered your orders through our "Drive Thru Pick Up Service". We are so thankful for our amazing Heartland families who have been flexible and patient as we are figured out how to best serve you during this time.


Below you will find tutorials on how to use the new library website, how to schedule drive thru pick-ups & drop -offs as well as how to contact us if you have any questions!

QUICK SIDE NOTES:

1) We ask that you request library items from your closest library location so that you can

"Pick - Up" your order. Shipping is an available option if you are requesting items from a library location that is not in your immediate area. Shipping costs will vary depending on weight and size of your order. Shipping costs are deducted from your student funds only. We will contact you before the order is shipped to confirm the price and receive your approval.


2) When searching for an item you will see in the "LOCATION" box, SLO & BAK

SLO- San Luis Obispo

BAK- Bakersfield


3) If you or any family members have had COVID please feel free to wait 14 days after symptoms have ended for you to return any library or curriculum items to our SLO or BAK locations.

Available Kits for Purchase with Student Funds (Please read instructions and details below)

There are a few available kits for purchase with student funds that we have in our inventory in Bakersfield.

1) Most of the kits are fully complete but some may have an item or two missing. T

2) These are discounted items that the ordering team can process through Procurify.


3) There is only one of each of these items so it is a first come first serve basis.

4) You can email library@heartlandcharterschool.com to purchase a kit and the ordering team will get the item processed ASAP.


5) THESE ARE FOR PICK UP ONLY AND CANNOT BE SHIPPED.

6) Once the order has been processed we will contact you for pick up

If you know exactly what curriculum you are looking for, feel free to email Library@heartlandcharterschool.com and we will see if these items are available for purchase. The items can only be purchased with your "student planning amount" through Procurify and NOT with a personal payment. Items must be picked up in the Bakersfield or San Luis Obispo area. Shipping is not an option until the official Curriculum Sale.

LOOKING FOR SOMETHING?

We are hard at work adding books, games, puzzles everyday to the new library website but we do not want you to have to wait for something you may be looking for. We have uploaded some images of our shelves that have items that may or MAY NOT be on our library website yet. If you see something you are interested in checking out, please feel free to email your local librarian (see emails below) to request that item and if we still have it in our inventory, we will gladly check the item out to your student and schedule a time for you to pick it up . This will be on a first come first serve basis. So the item may have already been checked out when you request it. Please note the location of the library below the picture and pick the library in your immediate area or shipping charges may apply. Thanks again for your patience.

HOW DO I SET UP MY STUDENTS LIBRARY ACCOUNT?

Note: If you have multiple students, each student will have their own account and you will need to repeat the following steps for each one.


1) Go to the New Library Website HERE also titled https://heartlandcharterschool.mlasolutions.com/


2) Select "Sign In"


3) Login: Type in your student ID #

(that 5 digit number can be found attached to your students name on procurify or you can reach out to your HST)

Do Not Enter Password the FIRST TIME


4) Click on "My Account"


5) Click "Change Login/ Password" - There you can create a password for your student


Your Students LOCAL ID will be the username moving forward so make sure you have that info saved somewhere.

"DRIVE - THRU PICK UP"

DUE TO CURRENT TIMES: We are offering a "Drive-Thru Pick Up" for library orders. Once the librarian has your order ready, you will receive a phone call from your local librarian or an email with a google form to schedule your "Pick Up" day and time. Once filled out, you will receive a confirmation email giving you details on how your local librarian will meet you outside for a "Drive-Thru Pick Up" service.


If you are requesting items from a library location that is not in your immediate area:

We will ship the items to you and email a confirmation tracking number


*Shipping costs & times may vary and will be deducted from student funds. Some items may be too big or heavy to ship. We will contact you before we send the order to confirm the shipment price.


* You may also organize a group of families in your local area to schedule one big pick up & drop off. Please contact your local librarian and communicate your plan.

WHAT'S AVAILABLE ON THE SITE?


  • Feel free to put the Title/Subject/Author of the books or items you are looking for in the "search bar" or click the "Anywhere" button on the left to select your specific search option. You can get even more specific by clicking "Enhanced Search"
  • You can find the Heartland Charter School Website and the "Better Together" link
  • Stay connected with our Updated Library Flyer/"Smore" giving dates and new information on the library
  • Click on "Kids Catalog" on the top right to allow your kids to explore our site in a fun kid friendly way that will attract young library users and make their searches fun. Please note that they cannot check out books from this site but, kids can find what books might be available and add them to the book bag so parents know what the child would like to check out for them on the official site. They can click on authors name and see all of the items we have available under that author.
  • You can also click on the Visual Search buttons for books and items in individual categories.
  • Find some "Seasonal Books" or "Teacher's Favorites"
  • And check out our gallery of pictures
  • If you need any help feel free to scroll to the bottom to "Contact Librarian"
  • Side note: We are not checking out CURRICULUM at this time so you will not find those items on the site.

HOW DO I HOLD A BOOK OR ITEM?

1) Find an item that you would like to check out through the search button, visual search buttons, or recommended reading lists.

2) Click on the Title of the book or item you would like to reserve

3) Check the box of the location you would like to reserve the book from

  • BAK=Bakersfield
  • SLO= San Luis Obispo
(if you choose a location where shipping is required, shipping costs & ETA may vary)

Shipping costs will be deducted from student funds)

4) Click on the Reserve Button and the item is automatically put on hold for you

* If the title says "0 out of _" then no book is available at this time but you have a chance to click on the "reserve" button and you will be placed on a wait list for the item.

*Only 2 people can be on the wait list at a time for 1 item.

* If you wish to cancel a "hold" or "reserve", click on "my account" at the top of the screen, and scroll down to your list of items and cancel the item..

5) Your student is allowed to have in their possession, 10 items at a time for 90 days.

HOW DO I PICK UP MY LIBRARY ITEMS AFTER I HAVE REQUESTED THEM ONLINE?

Once the librarian has your order ready, you will receive a phone call from your local librarian or an email with a google form for you to fill out, to schedule the day and time you wish to pick up. Once filled out, you will receive a confirmation email giving you details on how your local librarian will meet you outside for a "Drive-Thru Pick Up" service.


If the items you have reserved are from an out of town library location, you will receive an email with a google form with the option to have your items shipped to you.

*Shipping costs & times may vary and will be deducted from student funds.

We will contact you once the order is ready to be sent, to confirm the shipment price.

Please note that some items may be too big or heavy to ship.


You are also welcome to coordinate with groups to have one pick up scheduled for multiple families, if you live out of the area, and we will group those items together. Contact your local librarian to coordinate the details.

HOW DO I RETURN MY LIBRARY ITEMS?

When you are ready to return your items to the library, you will email library@heartlandcharterschool.com to schedule a "drive through drop off" time.


If you need to ship your items back to the library please email library@heartlandcharterschool.com and we will send a shipping label to you so you may ship your items back. (shipping costs may vary)


You will receive an email reminding you of books/items that will be overdue to remind you to return your order to your library as soon as possible

IF I DO NOT LIVE NEAR SAN LUIS OBISPO OR BAKERSFIELD, CAN MY ITEMS BE SHIPPED?

We are now offering shipping!

Shipping is an available option if you are requesting items from a library location that is not in your immediate area.


We will contact you once the order is ready to be sent, to confirm the shipment price.

Once approved by you, we will get the items sent out.


Shipping costs will vary depending on weight and size of your order. Some items may be too heavy or too big to ship.


The cost will cover the items being sent to and from your home, and will be deducted from student funds. If you do not have student funds, shipping will not be an option.


Another wonderful option may be to reach out to other families in your area to coordinate one big pick up. We would love to help in any way to get these items into your students hands. Just please keep your local librarian posted.

NEED TO RETURN CURRICULUM ITEMS ?

If you need to come in to one of our office locations in either San Luis Obispo or Bakersfield to return any "Curriculum Items" , which are items that have been purchased with student planning amounts, we ask that you have a return form filled out ahead of time with an itemized list of everything you are returning. The reconciliation team only goes off of what is filled out on the form when they are updating your student inventory list. If your list is not itemized your student may not have these items taken off their inventory so please be detailed.


If you are near the San Luis Obispo location please schedule your drop off with Tammy.
