Google Docs and Daily Writing Prompts

Google Docs is a great platform to use with students to promote writing. Students can share the document with you or their peers so they can get authentic feedback. Just use the comment feature.

On the Teacher's Corner website, you will find some Daily Writing Prompts. The majority of the prompts are related to the various events listed on their October Events Calendar.

FlipQuiz™ provides educators with a quick way to create your own gameshow-style boards for test reviews in the classroom. Traditionally, these are created tediously, using poster board, chalkboards, PowerPoint™ or dry-erase markers on overhead slides. The review questions themselves are usually written on a separate sheet of paper.

With FlipQuiz™, questions are displayed on-screen and boards are saved for later use. Combined with a beautiful board, students are more likely to be interested and stay engaged with the test review process. Watch a live Demo!

To get started it's as easy as 1-2-3!

  1. Sign up for a FREE account @ http://flipquiz.me/login
  2. Create your own quiz board or select from pre-made boards
  3. Present to your class

Google Tools!

Sharing YouTube Videos

Share YouTube videos in a safe way

SafeShare.TV is a free tool that allows a teacher to share a video from YouTube without all the side thumbnails or advertisements that may not be appropriate to show in a classroom. This tool basically creates a new safe link to a YouTube video that can be shared. It also has some additional advanced features that you might find useful. To get you started check out Tutorial - Safeshare.tv Basic. If you need further assistance call the HELP desk (Ext. 4357) and ask for an Instructional Coach.

Quietube is another YouTube sharing option

QuietTube is another free tool to enhance the YouTube-watching experience. The idea is that you can watch just the video, with none of the other YouTube page elements. Go to quietube.com for simple instructions on how to begin using it. On this page there is also a short video tutorial and live example of how a video will be displayed on the webpage. If you need further assistance call the HELP desk (Ext. 4357) and ask for an Instructional Coach.
