SMAP Networking Mixer
Common Ground’s Student Mentoring and Ambassador Program (SMAP) has partnered with Higher Heights Youth Empowerment Program for our 2nd Annual Networking Mixer. This event will highlight the successes of our youth this school year and create opportunities for our students to meet potential mentors in attendance.
Light dinner and drinks will be served.

Open Farm Day
Explore our beautiful urban farm, help dig and plant in the children’s garden, and visit with the animals. The animal yards are open for visitors to meet our chickens, ducks, turkeys, goats, sheep, and pigs. Trail maps are available for self-guided hikes in West Rock Park, including the family-friendly Old Oak Nature Trail.
This is a free event, donations welcomed.

Growing Up WILD: Garden and Nature Activities for Early Childhood Educators
Formal and non-formal educators are welcome to join us for this workshop focusing on environmental education activities for young children focused on gardening and nutrition. The Growing Up WILD curriculum is designed for ages 4-7 and includes interdisciplinary thematic units that work in a classroom, preschool, daycare or in a non-formal setting.

Farm Festival & Seedling Sale
Purchase strong, healthy vegetable and herb starts for your home garden grown at Common Ground using sustainable farming practices. Seedlings are $2 – $5- SNAP accepted. Learn about planting and care of new seedlings at a tutorial at 12PM.
At the Farm Festival, celebrate community and the beginning of a new growing season. Festivities include music, face-painting, and sheep shearing!
