Teaching Students to Think in a Media Saturated World: Jan 15
The course begins with an in-person training on Tuesday January 15 that covers foundational pedagogy, models and materials for curriculum driven media literacy integration. Each participant will then work on an integration plan for their classroom or context, with virtual support. We will deepen the work between January and March through three 90-minute online classes (dates TBD) and individual coaching as participants develop, practice, reflect on, and evaluate implementation strategies. The course concludes with another full day workshop on Wednesday March 13 where we will share and synthesize our learning and discuss the integration of this approach into the Personalized Learning strategies.

Sign Language for Librarians: Jan 16
This workshop will introduce library faculty and staff to visual communication and basic library related sign language.
In this workshop, participants will learn:
- basic tips in communicating with Deaf patrons
- simple signs related to the library
- strategies to make your library more Deaf friendly
- resources to help participants continue their sign language and Deaf culture education

Cataloging in the Follett Consortium: Jan 23
Did you know that Follett Destiny provides multiple creative and innovative ways for libraries to personalize their collections? This workshop will provide an overview of efficient and effective copy cataloging strategies that school librarians and library staff can use to create flexible and dynamic groupings within their collections. Participants will also learn time saving tips and tricks for using the SLS Title Request form and adding copies to the consortium. This workshop is open to all Follett consortium district librarians and library staff members.
