Welcome to the Crew!

We are excited to welcome our new Crew to the Buckhorn Creek Elementary Community!

Ms. Bickelhaupt - 4th Grade

Ms. Whitney Bickelhaupt (Mrs. B) is excited to join the Buckhorn Creek family and the Fourth Grade team. She has been an educator in WCPSS for the past fourteen years. She grew up in Wilmington, NC and Richmond, VA, but has called the Triangle home for almost twenty years. Ms. B is a proud graduate of Meredith College with a degree in Psychology, and a K-6 Teaching License. She has nine years of classroom teaching experience in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades; and five years experience in school leadership as a K-5 Math Coach and as an Instructional Facilitator.

Mrs. B's time outside of school is spent with her husband, who is also a teacher, and their two children, Grayson and Hannah. Mrs. B is so thankful that she gets to be a mother and a teacher. She enjoys reading and traveling with her family, especially to the beach. Mrs. B. is looking forward to an exciting new school year at Buckhorn Creek!

Ms. Ciuffardi - 3rd Grade

Mrs. Magy Ciuffardi (pronounced Chu - far - di) is excited to be part of the 3rd grade team at BCES. She is a Florida Atlantic University graduate and this will be her 8th year teaching 3rd grade. Mrs. Ciuffardi and her family moved to NC from sunny South Florida in 2020. She has been married to her wonderful husband for 17 years and they have 3 boys, Gio, Val, and Luca. In her free time, Mrs. Ciuffardi enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family. She looks forward to watching your students grow and continue to develop a love of learning.

Carpool Procedures!

Please take a moment to learn about how our carpool operates!

Navigating carpool at Buckhorn Creek Elementary

Safety and Carpool

This year we will require that any student being dismissed through carpool have a Buckhorn Creek Carpool tag.

We will not call students by name. Cars without a Buckhorn Creek issued Carpool tag will be required to pull forward, show ID, and we will verify that students can be released to the person picking them up. You will need to add anyone that is allowed to pick up your child to the emergency contacts during Meet the Teacher.

Please make sure you have your carpool tag or have requested additional carpool tags before the first day of school.

Please request a new or replacement carpool tag by following this link.

Anyone that will be a walker must follow a different process that must be completed In-Person. Please do NOT complete this survey. Please come to the school during one of our Forms Days.

Forms Day!!

Forms Days (register for carpool numbers, drop off medication, and drop off any remaining registration documents). Providing specific times to manage these items will allow us to support families more efficiently on Meet the Teacher Night.

August 10, 11 & 12 from 9am-12pm

***Please note, your carpool number from last school year will still be valid. You do not need to get a new number. If you are in need of a replacement tag, please stop in the front office

However, we know this may not be possible due to family schedules and you are welcome to come at another time if this is the case. However, we ask that you do try your best to come during your assigned time.
