5K Notes for Runners
Students running in the 5K need to be aware that the roads are not closed to traffic while the race is underway. Please instruct your child to be aware of traffic and to move to the grass on the side of the road if a car is coming. We will have security on hand, but we ask all runners to be aware of traffic conditions. It has come to our attention that there is a neighborhood yard sale happening in a subdivision off of Michael Etchison Road which may result in more traffic than normal.
Scary Scurry Run Notes
The Scary Scurry Run is a fun way for our youngest runners to participate. Parents are welcome to accompany their children on the course at no extra charge. Your child will be given a card when he or she crosses the finish line. Please help your child fill it out with name and age (please make sure it is legible!) and turn it in to the race coordinator as quickly as possible. This is how times and winners are tabulated.
Fall Festival
The Fall Festival will be held RAIN OR SHINE from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the center of our GWA campus, and offers lots of fun and activities for the entire family to enjoy! In case of rain, the fall festival will continue but will be moved into the high school building, and all food vendors will be moved into the cafeteria.
