Fairfield Principal Newsletter
March 2024
Dear Fairfield Families,
As we welcome the blossoming beauty of spring, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your continued support and dedication to our school community. Our Book Fair and Family Night were both huge successes. Our sales beat any previous records which created a profit of $2,700. This money goes directly to students and teachers supporting enrichment and experiences. In addition, the school receives $1000 in new books from earned scholastic bucks.
It was wonderful to see so many families at Family Fun Night! I was privileged to have my daughters and husband join to help out as well. Bringing our families together at school is magical. Thank you to all my staff and parent volunteers! Our next PTO meeting is Thursday, March 28th at 6:00pm in Room 13.

Believe it or not, we are starting to plan for the end of the year and prepare students for the transition to the next grade. With only 10 weeks of school left, we are beginning the placement process. I invite you to fill out the Parent Input Form, which will be shared with teachers, and considered throughout the placement process. Parent input needs to be submitted by March 31st.
As we head into spring, we have been enjoying some outdoor fun and field trips! Many of these field trips leave right at the beginning of the school day. Attendance and arriving to school on time remain important each day.
Please add important dates and information to your calendars. Important Dates are listed below. I look forward to seeing parents during our Parent Teacher Conferences.
Best,
Wendy LeBlanc
Principal

NURSING NEWS
Please click on the links below to read information from Nurse Morgan. Updates include seasonal reminders and when to keep your child home from school.
On March 1st, the CDC released updated Respiratory Virus Guidance in response to the decreased risk that COVID-19 poses to the population. This updated guidance includes strategies to protect people at the highest risk of getting seriously ill and provides actionable recommendations for people with common viral respiratory illnesses, including COVID-19, Influenza, and RSV.
The new guidelines now mirror the flu recommendations of staying home until 24 hours after your child’s fever resolves without the use of fever-reducing medication and symptoms are improving. Although a negative test or 5-day isolation is no longer required, it is recommended that your child practice prevention strategies, such as handwashing, wearing a mask, and keeping their distance from others to reduce the likelihood of spread.
Please take a moment to review the new guidance linked below. If you have any concerns or questions, please contact the school nurse.
