Unearthing Alignment
With Sarra Kaufman
Event Information
- All poses in the scripture of asana are made of very similar and nuanced construction directly related to tadasana, mountain pose.
- Though in a faster paced vinyasa class we might be able to see superficially how poses relate, a 5 breath hold ends up being too fast a transition to really dive deeply into the architecture and uncover the subtleties that unite the shapes on both an internal and external level.
- In this workshop we will breakdown this physical lexicon into families of similarly structured shapes all revolving around the origin of tadasana and the sushumna nadi (open hip poses, closed hip poses, twists, and backbends).
- By the end of this alignment immersion you will feel a renewed sense of curiosity and comfort in the asana practice, a stronger understanding and application of the internal energetic structure of the poses, and thus an invigorated freedom to flow.
