PCMS WEEKLY UPDATE
May 17, 2019
When working with over 700 kids each and every day, there are always moments that make us take a step back and really appreciate what our teachers and students do. The Choir and Band Concerts this week were definitely two of these moments. Our 6th graders have shown incredible growth since their winter performances, the 7th-grade students have matured so much with their musical talents during the year, and our 8th graders have demonstrated that they’re ready for the next steps in their musical careers at the high school level. Both events were absolutely #PCMSPROUD moments!!! We are so proud of our students and their teachers; Mr. Gordon, Mr. Bailey, Dr. Bonsignore, Dr. Jones, and Ms. Mahnken! THANK YOU again and enjoy the weekend!!!
Look at the #LEARNING happening!
End-of-Year Chromebook Instructions
6th, 7th, and 8th grade parents: Be on the lookout for an email with specific instructions for your student's Chromebook devices. We have some changes coming for the end-of-year, the summer and next school year!
Student Meal Account Balances at the End of Year
As the end of the school year is fast approaching, we wanted to remind you to please keep an eye on your child’s meal account balance. As a courtesy, we will continue to notify you weekly via email and/or phone call when your child’s balance falls under $5 and/or is in a negative state. We hope to keep our negative balances to a minimum, so that it will make the end of year procedures go more smoothly. As a reminder, you can check account balances and add money to student meal accounts on Parent Portal.
~Please see the attached letter from our Director of Operations, Jay Harris, in regards to student meal account procedures.
Electronic Proof of Residency Message from PCRIII
As part of a continued focus on maintaining fiscal accountability, ensuring our tax dollars are spent on Platte County R-3 students, the District requires proof of residency for all returning students annually. We hope you will take advantage of our electronic proof of residency dates, designed to provide greater convenience to our District families.
Please see attached instructions and webpage. If you have multiple students in the District, only one proof of residency is required.
Please choose the school of ONE of your students and send your proof of residency documentation to ONE of the following email addresses (returning students only; please send scanned copies, no photos).
Compass Elementary: compassres@platteco.k12.mo.us
Pathfinder Elementary: pathfinderres@platteco.k12.mo.us
Siegrist Elementary: siegristres@platteco.k12.mo.us
Barry School: barryres@platteco.k12.mo.us
Platte City Middle School: pcmsres@platteco.k12.mo.us

After completing the process, a hard copy or emailed receipt will be provided to the parent. Parents can show this confirmation to obtain a student's final schedule or class teacher.
Electronic proof of residency will be open for returning students until July 12.
If you have any questions, please contact the District Education Center at 816.858.5420 or your child's school.
