Principal's Message
We made it through our first week of distance learning with lots of wins! I was so excited to hear all the awesome things going on in your google classrooms and hearing your “scholar stories” which made us laugh. We are so lucky to work with such an amazing and resourceful team. You all have been doing a fantastic job engaging our scholars in some awesome teaching videos and continuing morning meetings etc.. As we know, not all school districts are doing what EEP is doing so our scholars are blessed to have you working so hard on their behalf. Thank you for showing up for our scholars and bringing a sense of normalcy in these trying times!!!

All grades must be final in Illuminate by 11 pm on Wednesday, April 8th. Rhodes has a call scheduled for Monday about our K-2 IA issue so be on the lookout for an email once it gets figured out.
Report Cards will be sent electronically to families on April 30th.
Retention Tracker
As discussed in our grade level team meetings the retention tracker can be found here. This is due next Sunday, April 12th. The admin team will review and submit the final names to the executive team. Once the list has been approved, the admin team will reach out to the teachers and families to set up meetings. Dean of Culture
Dean of Culture Google Classroom Assignment
I will post an assignment this week on google classroom due April 17th. Scholars can write/type a short letter of encouragement to the healthcare workers who are now on the frontlines of this battle vs COVID-19. Our healthcare professionals are working so hard while showing strength, love and wisdom in the mist of some of the hardest times they ever had to face. So many are tired, and at times scared. This battle is unpredictable and may last much longer than any of us want to consider, so letters from the children would provide much needed nourishment to their souls. They would love to know that while they are working in such uncertain times, someone else is thinking about them.
Scholars may draw pictures, take silly pictures, create sidewalk chalk drawing, upload poems, etc.
When you talk to scholars, encourage them to get creative and put love into what they produce because it will be sent to healthcare professionals in our local area hospitals.
Scholar of the Week
Teachers you will choose the scholar of the week if it is your will to choose like we do leadership tee. You will have them send you a picture by Friday and email the picture and brief description of why they are the Scholar of the week.

WIG Goal of the Week
Grade team with the most scholars on Google Classroom will win the WIG!!!
Dean of SEL
Thanks for your amazing support over the last few weeks! We have greatly appreciated it! I have uploaded the first SEL lesson in each of your classrooms, and scholars have begun to respond! Additionally, Sesame Street has a pretty great resource about health emergencies located here. It is age-appropriate for at least kinder and first graders. There are videos and activities as well. I will be creating a lesson or video for next week about mindfulness to help scholars with our sharpen the saw habit!
Habit of the Month
Sharpen the Saw: fuel your body and mind at the same time. Eat to nourish your body and be mindful of all you do. Pay attention to how often you are moving your body, growing your brain, and resting at night. It’s hard to balance all of these things from home, but you can ask someone else to make sure that you are doing these things together. You may even need to help grown ups make sure that they are doing these things!

Kinder - Norah Adams (Eckerd)
Norah Adams as our Triton of the week! Norah puts “ Puts First Things First” by actively participating in Eckerd’s Google Classroom daily, being a leader at home by teaching her brother sight words during sight word dancing, has gone above and beyond in her writing, and uploads video/pictures of her completed AWESOME work! Thank you Norah for doing an amazing job! ❤️
1st Grade - Ahrayah Perdue (Texas)
Ahrayah Perdue is our scholar of the week in Texas! We have loved reading her responses to the online lessons! She wrote the kindest sentences with character traits about her friend Brielle C! She has pushed herself to try new strategies in Math and CGI this week and has gotten every single problem correct! We have been having virtual class meetings and she has kept us smiling all week, she even brought her baby sister to the meeting one day! We are SO proud of her and the hard work she is putting in. Way to go Ahrayah!
2nd Grade - Layla Ncube (Auburn)
Auburn student of the week is Layla Ncube. She has been working so hard on completing assignments and sending pictures of her work. She’s been using all of the strategies we’ve learned so far in second grade and is continuing to grow her brain even at home. We are so proud of her and miss her smiling face!
