World Geography with Mr. Akagi
Next week in World Geography, students will be examining European colonization in Latin America, and the arrival and impact of Catholicism to the region. We’ll also be examining the reason why some Latin Americans try to leave from their country of origin: what is going wrong in that country that would make people want to leave, and what attracts them to a different country (for example, like the United States)? Finally, we’ll be taking a day to hang out in the Caribbean. If we’re lucky and keep a good pace throughout the week, on Friday students will be able to play Kahoot to review, and use the day to catch up on any missing assignments.
Language Arts with Ms. Griem
Language Arts will be finishing Act II of The Monsters are Due on Maple Street. Students will be focusing on answering the EQ: “What are the effects of irrational behavior?”. At the end of the unit they will be writing an essay using the texts that we have read and answering the EQ.
