FUNDRAISER ENDING SOON!

Our chocolate & beef fundraiser is wrapping up as of January 31st. Please try to sell any product you have left. Everything should be turned into the office (money and/or product) no later than Friday, February 7th. Thank you for supporting Orchard Hill Elementary!

LOCKDOWN SAFETY DRILL

We will be conducting a lockdown drill on Wednesday, January 29th. Our goal is to prepare students and staff in case of a real emergency. We also want parents to be prepared and understand what happens in a real event.

In case of a real emergency, families will be notified by text that we are in lockdown. Our parking lot can get congested so we ask that parents not drive to the school. We understand that you will be anxious and concerned for your student, but extra cars and people near the school would impede emergency services that are called to our location.

We will follow up with a text to families when we are given the all clear. If you have any questions about this process, please don't hesitate to call us at 541-779-1766.

PARKING LOT DROP OFF in the MORNING

Our parking lot can be very congested during times of high traffic in the morning and afternoon. We do not have a monitor in the morning so we ask that all families follow the rules regarding student drop off.

  • Have your student ready with backpack, coat, lunchbox, etc.
  • Pull as far forward as you can. DO NOT stop at the front entrance.
  • Do not leave your car unattended by parking at the curb to walk your student in. Please find a parking space if you want to do this. The yellow curb near the building is a NO PARKING ZONE.

Bottom line, be mindful that there are other parents attempting to drop off their student. Most families need to do this quickly so they can get to work. Be respectful of others time by following these simple rules.

TALENT SHOW AUDITIONS

Audition applications are available NOW! You can download and print one here or get one from the office. They must be turned by Thursday, January 30th and auditions will be on Monday, February 3rd, during school hours.

FEBRUARY CHARACTER TRAIT -- TRUSTWORTHINESS

Every month, Orchard Hill focuses on one of the Six Pillars of Character. We emphasize this trait all month long and then recognize those Hawks at our month end assembly that exhibited this trait the best.

For February we are focusing on TRUSTWORTHINESS. Be honest. Don't deceive, cheat or steal. Be reliable - do what you say you'll do. Have the courage to do the right thing. Build a good reputation. Be loyal - stand by your family, friends and country.
