- Boys baseball, girls soccer, girls softball, boys and girls track, boys and girls tennis were all victorious this past week.

- The Fillies bought home gold from their weekend dance competition
- FFA ag mechanics won a blue ribbon for their cattle trailer that they built.
Our students have risen from all of the obstacles and setbacks to shine in their various activities. I have to say.......I finally feel like we are getting some sense of normalcy back!
The LCISD school district has decided that it will be "No Meet March". There will be no meetings at the district level, as well as no meetings on the campus level such as faculty meetings and department chair meetings. Groups can choose to meet on their own.
PLC's and TTT will continue as normal.
Updates This Week:
- The fourth six weeks grades are due on Monday, March 1st.
- Make firm contact with families of the students who were not successful for the grading period.
- Incompletes can be given to any student you are working with to improve their grade
- Invite your students to the Mustang Learning Center.
- Telpas writing samples will need to be completed by the math department this week. All students need to write in your classrooms.
The SAT will be administered to all 11th graders on Wednesday. At this time we do not have all of our testing materials from College Board, so if we don't receive materials by Tuesday morning, we will have to do the makeup testing on April 27th. All campuses in LCISD are experiencing a delay with their materials. Stay tuned for an update on Tuesday afternoon.
We will continue to focus on our three campus goals:
1). Building relationships
2). PLC's
3). Good first-time teaching that engages our students and stretches their learning.
As of right now, our students will still take the EOC exams, the SAT, TSIA testing, and high school graduation requirements remain the same. It will take a collective effort from all of us to ensure our students regain credits, maintain passing grades, and stay focused on school.
MUSTang Time:
MUSTang Time will continue to operate as a study hall for the majority of our students. It is the expectation that students are working on classwork during this time. This week will be the perfect time to get students to log into Skyward and look at their progress report grades. Help students set short-term goals for their academic success.
- Mustang Time will have groups for EOC ELA testers beginning this week. AMPs will be available for tutoring during this time. See emails from Aisha & Julie for these two groups.
It was wonderful to visit classrooms last Wednesday and observe teachers working with small groups, students working on Canvas and Edgenuity assignments. Let's continue to keep Mustang Time as an hour of focus on academics!
PLC's Update:
EOC, Telpas, TSIA, and AP testing are upon us, so let's ensure we are providing relevant and engaging instruction to all of our students.
- What are the 3 -4 foundational readiness skills (essentials) that students must possess to be successful for each unit of study?
- How do you use data to ensure every student grows academically? All teams have access to the PMA and PSAT data that will give you a baseline as to where your students stand academically.
- Are your common assessments matching the rigor of your daily lessons?
- How do we provide opportunities for all students (SPED, EL's, 504, AP) in our class to be successful?
- How are we using Bloom's II questioning strategies in our daily lessons to check for understanding, engage, and stretch student learning?
Canvas Pages:
Ensure all of your Canvas assignments are open for students to complete (especially for the 4th six weeks).
Make sure your canvas announcements are up to date, and that you remind your virtual learners returning back to campus know they will now return on March 2nd.

Think Tank Thursday -
Our instructional team will focus on grade books for this week. Need to know when to push the new button? What do I do with incompletes? How do I keep a fluid grade book? How can I make my grade book more user friendly?
Remember, you can earn DMA hours by attending the sessions!
See you at the library.
