Greetings Acton Families!
Hopefully this message finds your families warm and safe!
Our 2nd semester is well under way and I encourage you to maintain a focus on reading everyday and regular class attendance. Together we can help students have a strong academic semester and school year.
Thank you so much to all 4th grade parents for bringing students to campus. We were able to get all but a few students assessed.
We are trending upward in many areas in the midst of the pandemic. In order for our campus to strive for greatness we need your help:
- ensure students attend class on time, everyday
- ensure students complete all of their assignments
- ensure students read every night (15-20 minutes)
- ensure students get good sleep each night
- stay in touch with your child's teacher and the school
Thank you in advance for your flexibility and commitment to support your children and our campus as we write success stories, one student at a time. Make it a great week!
Sincerely,
Jessica Linwood
Principal
Acton Elementary School
February Updates
This section of the newsletter is included to emphasize some information about upcoming events in February.
The week of 2/8/21 - 2/12/21 we will offer some Valentine's activities for students to participate in during the school day. Teachers may choose to provide treats for students. However, students will not exchange cards, candy, and other goodies to prevent the possible spread of illness-causing virus or bacteria.
- Monday February 15th is a non-school day for students. This is a professional development day for teachers. Therefore, we will have no in-person or virtual classes.
- Tuesday, February 16th at 6pm we will have a parent meeting regarding math and academic success in school.
- Thursday, February 18th is the 100th day of school. Students will have an opportunity to dress up and represent the number or age 100. Teachers will provide more information about anything special they may be doing in their class.
- Thursday, February 25th at 11am we will have a parent meeting with the counselor.
There is no school Monday, February 15, 2021. All in-person and virtual classes will resume Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
Make sure students are present in-person or virtually every day and ready to learn. Find helpful information in this newsletter for how to help your child access their programs and complete their work.
Acton Elementary Fundraiser
Please ensure your child logs in to specials classes at least once a week to complete the assignment if they are virtual. This is how they earn their specials report card score.
Remember to complete your health screener each morning prior coming to school. See the video below to show you how to complete the screener.
In addition to our daily temperature checks, we will be checking to ensure daily student screener has been completed. Daily morning arrival will be much quicker if you have already completed the screener.
1/28/21 and 2/1/21
